Common cold and chest CT

I have lung nodules for which I am followed by chest CT every six months for two years. My next scan is this Friday. It so happens that I got a cold last week and the cough is not yet gone. I feel fine but I don't think the cough will be gone by Friday.

My question is, do they see common cold or bronchitis on chest CT scans? Should I reschedule or not?

I already have a complicated picture so to speak that includes multiple tiny lung nodules in both lungs of unknown origin and post-radiation inflammatory nodules on the radiated side that were mostly gone on the most recent CT back in March.

Did anybody have chest CT while sick with cold or flu and what was the result?

same thing for me. 2 years of ct scans to follow up on nodules. When they saw changes because of rads, added more. Now! A spot that maybe left over from cold/cough in May. So now back to 3 month follow up!

I have no symptoms for any..

I ended up re-scheduling my chest CT because of cold. Finally got it done last week. No change in the nodules that were first seen in 2013. However, since they are ground glass and ground glass nodules may be precursor of lung cancer they will continue monitoring them. Next CT in a year.
