    dear hpaul4

I just want to tell you because this may reassure you that I had the same kind of family hx as you. All family tested positive for BRCA1 gene 23 years ago. We were first family tested for this in US or at least one of first dozen. Your chances are 50-50 is what I was told. I am negative for 19 genetic mutations and you may very well be too. Keep that in mind ok? I know that a 50-50 proposition is crazy making and I could hardly handle it 23 years ago but try to put it into perspective . You may very well be in the negative 50. It's the " luck " of the draw literally, like rolling dice. I wish you good luck!

You only have a 50/50 chance if one of your parents is positive for BRCA

Most Cervical cancer is caused by the HPV virus, so I wouldn't think it raises your risk. I had ovarian cancer, but it was a rare type and the genetics counselor feels that my particular type was not genetically linked to breast cancer

I'm sorry about your parent parents. I lost my mom really young to this too . It's extremely sad, even today. I also do not think that cervical cancer is part of this cluster ----
