Had my Core Biopsy Today - Anxious & Info
Hello, one Been lurking for a couple of weeks. Here is my quick background;
Late 30s
Had a sore on Lt breast over summer prompting me to ask for a mammogram. Plus they had been tender around pms time which was different for me. Paternal grandmother died of BC.
1st Mammogram - Sept 14 - Birad 0, Heterogeneous dense breast. Need additional images
October 5 - 2nd Mammogram done.
Ultrasound done to compare things seen on 2nd Mammogram
Ultrasound Impression: 7mm (questionable bc it mentions 2mm & cm in other paperwork??) round cyst in Lt breast at 1o'clock middle depth appears suspicious of malignancy. An US guided aspiration/biopsy is recommended.
Biopsy recommended Bi-Rads 4&5
Ultrasound Bi-Rads: 4 suspicious abnormality
(Any idea what the difference is between those two statements??!

Biopsy Today
They keep telling me how small it is. The dr. Planned to try to aspirated the cyst in hopes it would drain & flatten on Ultrasound.
I mentioned numbing and they said they usually don't numb for aspiration. I got upset.
Dr. Comes in & lets me know she will numb me Lidocaine. Explains plan to simply aspirate/drain and be all done.
Numbed and she attempts to aspirate. First needle is not long enough to reach area of cyst/lesion
2nd attempt with longer needle begins and I almost immediately feel burning/ stabbing pain. I let them know about this right away, as I began to cry in pain. Did my best to hold still. Staff was good. Nurse had to help dr in attempt to aspirate.
Nothing was able to be aspirated
Dr. gave me more lidocaine.
Core biopsy has to be done.
Everyone seemed different at that point. Wouldn't give me any indication of what they thought. The RN said you can't tell anything by the looks of the biopsied tissue appearance.
Mine looked like little red flesh
The RN said its not a simple cyst but there r plenty of other b9 things it could be. Results should be back Tuesday or Wednesday.
Sorry for the long post, just putting all the info out there. Thanks!
