oh yeah.... It counts. A LOT!!!!!
Yay for Octo!
And welcome Andraxo!

Octo, love retail therapy!
25 miles, 1550 feet of climbing, and I got a queen of the mountain on a downhill, which means the fastest chick in that section. I guess I got fatter lol
-
10/19: 1.0 hr T (2.1 MPH) + Fitbit steps + stretches = 6.5 miles
Hoping for a more extensive workout today.
-
Yesterday 15k steps, 18 flights of stairs. I miss being in a city where you can actually walk somewhere.
-
Today was the first day I hopped back on my rower. Did 5 minutes. Took it easy and it's a start.

had a lovely walk today. Up the hill. To the stream whose volume was amplified by yesterday's rain. Thinking of the dish soap, T!
Came home and picked this perfection:
-
Sounds like a nice walk Katy!
What a beautiful photo, that tomato looks so perfect...yum!
Unexpected house decontamination slowed down my exercise over the weekend, but back to my walking today. 2.7 mi in walking + steps so far today, hope to get to 4-5 mi by the end of the day.

Beautiful, Katy!
Okay, wish me luck--I'm taking several flights with segments up to 4 hours over the next few days! (And presenting, but I'm more worried about LE than about my presentation.)
-
Good luck on both the flights AND the presentation, ksusan!

Ditto, Frau Doktor! Be safe and be a hit! I know you will!
-
best of luck, ksusan.
Katy, I can smell the freshness of that tomato. I love the way garden picked tomatoes, smell!
Soap bubbles to me! 😍
5 millions laps around the neighborhood and back yard with grand kids. Wonder what a Fitbit would say?
-
Hiked in the sleet today until it got too wet to even take notes. About 5 hrs. Put on dry clothes and ran about 4 miles when I got back. Stretchies now!
-
Thanks!
10/20: Fitbit steps + stretches + 50+50 biceps hand weights + 20 modified military press + 100 crunches + 50 dead bugs + 4# overhead lifts [15x1] + 15# lifts [15x3] = 3.5 miles
Now I'm going to sleep so I can leave the house at an indecent hour.
-
Susan, best of luck on your flight and may the lymphedema goblins spare you on your flight. Today I raked for two hours, dutifully wearing my sleeve and so far no swelling to speak of. Got my 10,000 steps in and since I'm one of those who can't seem to make exercise a habit yet, it gives me great pleasure to be able to report this activity here!
-
Beautiful garden produce Katy! And good luck ksusan!
I had a few days without too much exercise; Friday traveling back home from radiation (on an Angel Flight for part of the way and then driving plus ferry) and a weekend at home and traveling back down here for radiation again on Monday (I ended up driving cuz I couldn't get ahold of either of the shuttle organizations after my Angel Flight was cancelled). I did do some dancing during theatre practice on Sunday, so I guess that counts.
Back at it today. I had a beautiful bike ride; about 27km
And I did good on my nutritional goals as well; 100oz fluids, 125g protein, 11 servings fruits/veggies.
10 rads done and 6 to go :-)
-
Has anyone gone swimming with an underarm seroma? I'm not sure if swim will make it get bigger or help make it smaller!
-
Eaglemom- VERY PRETTY!!!! (And the scenery was very nice, too!)
-
Good work, Sloth and Kornelia!
-
Yay! - Thanks for all the support
You are all beautiful and amazing!!
Yesterday I ran 4.5 miles before work in the dark with a headlamp and even headlamps around my dogs necks. A thunderstorm was approaching and it was absolutely spectacular!! After work I was able to play ultimate frisbee - my last game of the season due to darkness. I think a lot of people were shocked to see me out there running and sprinting! So much fun!
Thanks for the help about posting pics. I'll try to post something soon....need to download some recent ones from my camera.

Eaglemom, When you say 11 servings fruits and vegetables, do you measure by 1/2 cup servings? And, how do you get to 125 grams of protein?
-
eaglemom, that's a pretty ride. Wouldn't mind riding that everyday :-)
-
Usually do alternating brisk walk/slow run...but today for the first time was running the whole time...it was a slow run, but for 2mi...yeah!!!

me. Today.

Thanks for that, Katy. Absolutely appalling. Added my signature to the petition.

Thanks for posting that Jackbirdie/Katy. When I went to the class the person running it discouraged people from using false eyelashes and eyebrows because "the glue was toxic and being applied directly to the skin". I pointed out that the make-up is toxic and it is also going directly on the skin. Such a disappointment. Another person in the class when through each item and gave back all the ones she could not and would not use due to allergies and toxicity. There wasn't much left. I don't wear make-up, but as I wait for my eyebrows and lashes to fall out (day 15 post first chemo) I was interested in learning how to maybe apply them.
Happy Wednesday!
-
Wow, Katy. So beautiful and powerful.
-
Thanks everyone. It truly added to my "well-being" to write all the letters I have this month. Physically made me feel better.
For my new friends here, you'll find I need a lot of help with the exercise part of this thread, motivating myself. I think I might be thought of as a distraction, focusing so much on well-being at times. I never thought it would come to this. I'm just glad I got some of my mojo back that the biatch tried to take from me.
-
Andraxo, Good luck with chemo......may you have few side effects!
-
Good stuff, Katy.
I appear to have weathered the flights. I did not tear off the hot, scratchy sleeves. I have a little creasing on one part of my chest that seems to crease now after radiation if I have any fluid retention. So MLD, an extra HZTZ, a bath, and emu oil.
3.25 miles today. Pretty good for a travel day, but not as good as I'd like. Fortunately, I'm on the 9th floor and the stairs are accessible.
