My husband and I both qualified for full coverage at the VA. It would be unnerving for me to drop my excellent coverage from my husband's employment. But we are paying $677 a month for coverage. I also have Medicare Part A and Part B. The VA has qualified us for $0 co-pay. They have a beautiful hospital and clinics close. My dad is extremely happy with the care they provide. And I do see an oncology section on the informational mapping of the facility. Our income is around $3500 a month, so the $677 is taking a BIG chunk, and we also have $2500 out of pocket per year.

Has anyone used the VA for treatments? I am Stage IV, and have (and will have for life) infusions every three weeks. I also take some VERY expensive oral chemo drugs daily. (My prescriptions average over $4000 a month, not including the infusions.). Our prescription coverage is great on the private insurance.

Any information regarding VA would be helpful. Good or bad. Do we keep the private coverage? Etc.
