I am 42 and I am year from diagnosis of triple negative carcinosarcoma -and my last chemo was 6 months ago. I had a modified radical on the right and I'd like to begin exploring my options for recon. I am interested in DIEP or GAP - does anyone know a good plastic surgeon in Chicago? Why do people travel to NOLA? Are they considered "the best"

My surgeon was Dr. Neal Fine from Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He does Diep.
I had implants and my results were great.

can I ask how you choose implants instead of other tissue

No you don't have to go to NOLA if you are in Chicago. Dr Song at University of Chicago did my recon. He's done many many tissue recons. Really nice guy too.
