    Hi Naturluvr-

We want to welcome you to our community here at BCO. We're sorry for the circumstances that have brought you here, but you're definitely in the right place for support as you navigate your treatment and surgical options.

Have you discussed with your doctor the timeline for your surgery? Some people could be ready to handle surgery right away, others may need some time to regain their strength or rebuild their immune system before undergoing a major procedure. It really just depends on you, and what your doctor recommends. It also probably depends on what route you ultimately decide to take, lumpectomy or mastectomy. We would suggest also heading over to our Chemo forum and reading some of the messages from other members there; it might give you a good idea of what to expect as you finish up treatment.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need assistance in any way, and again, welcome!

I would call your surgeon's office to discuss. Because.... I found that my surgeon's office was waiting for me to finish chemo, but my oncologist's office was waiting for a surgery date before they scheduled my final chemo. You can't assume they're talking to one another.

Your Drs are the ones that can answer your questions - not us. We can only tell you of our individual experiences which are not the same for all.

I had my UMX 2 weeks after last neoadjuvant A/C and started adjuvant Taxol 3 weeks after UMX. Started rads a week after 12th Taxol but it's not the same for all.

Talk to your Drs for answers that apply to YOU - not what 'someone else' did.
