INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

Smaarty, I love the watercolor wash of the blues! Watercolor washes are some of my favorite quilt styles. My sis made a quilt for our king size bed that was a triple Irish chain with watercolor washes in rose and greens. I think I have a picture of it.
I've had to put it away because it's so worn that squares were tearing. Well used and well loved.

mema4 and jazzy...I can also relate. I have figured out a pattern. When kids and dh are home in the afternoons, weekends, holidays, summer...I am good to go most of the time. At least my head and heart are in a good place...physically who knows. But when they are at school and I am home alone...I just become a hermit. I talk myself out of doing so many things. It's a shame because I know I am just wasting my own precious time. But I find so much comfort, laughter here...I feel like I belong here. Not so much out in the world anymore. Yay for 1000 pages! Much love to you all!
Kristin

mags, pretty quilt.
Queenie, didn't you just get sprung? That's a bummer if you have to go back.
Sassy, can't help Enerva. I did craft sells for a couple years. Did ok but you can't make a living from a hobby. Can't make them fast enough or sell high enough for your time invested. Nice hobby and maybe a little income on the side.
And amen for Mema.
Did you guys see how fast this turned to 1001???

Hi all! Been away for sometime. Trying to hermatize myself from the world. The last weeks have been challenging. Find myself lurking on these boards for validation of who I am. Clinical depressions has had a grip on me. I often visit the boards to stay connected but doing so under covered. Although this have been a better year less side effects on aromasin; I still get into the dumps knowing I am less visible to the world. Computers acting up so just wanted to drop in and say Hello. Love you and miss you all
-
are you able to get out? When I was in the dumps..one of many times...I scheduled a day to get dressed and go to all the stores I frequent, even the bank. Underlying statement, yes here I am in all my baldness..ok surprise is over, let's move on. It was pretty empowering to me. Hope you feel better soo
-
SAS lol I love you. I know I will always keep on working on my creations on the side
Oh and I also say
Amen
Mema4 me too these tread helps me even when they don't event know it.
I always read and don't say much here but I love these ladies as family.
Hope you keep up and get well soon
G night

thanks for the welcoming hugs. Sas and Jazzy I am having wound issues again with a big oozy hole and some mysterious new bruising. I am also suffering because I had to temporarily stop my physiotherapy and as a result I am in a lot of arm pain. I think I have been feeling sookie because I have gone backwards a bit and still have so much pain. I will bounce back soon. I have a lot to be thankful for.
I am loving the craft photos. Such clever people and beautiful pieces. I am looking forward to getting back to my knitting when I can get my arms working again.
Well done on a 1000 pages of fabulous

Mema-Amen:-) Be well! Join in!
Kathindc- I should contact the university they might have suggestions. When they IQ tested my DD3 before her cochlear implant the PsyD couldn't get over how bright she was and how quickly she accomplished tasks - matched patterns finished sequences and flew through sorting and putting things in groups. My DD was just 3 months into the US from China, had no language and was just 4 years old. We had to model what we wanted her to do and she had some pretty hilarious responses because she wasn't familiar with the images- she turned our spoon and forks upside down and used them as chop sticks! She didn't understand a few of the photos because they were culturally cued and she was from China not USA. The PsyD said, "Wow!You are smart. Why did your Momma give you up?" I know why because deaf girls have no social value. We will keep on it. Her defeat makes me sad.
Smarty grgeous quilt! Cool design. Love the hats with the roses beautiful. Susan good thing you caught the toliet..hope days ahead are less icky. We understand icky. Hugs. Sassy how does it feel to create a thread that lives on with it's own virtual crew? Jazzy love the sweeping the leaves under the sidewalk! I need that! Take care ya'all.
-
hello Alyson,
Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I don't think I knew her. Safe travels to you.
Ok, this is exciting. I got to watch Elton John play tennis tonight. It was a benefit for his Aids foundation. I was hoping he would perform but no such luck...
-
Funny chatting to you folks at the same time. Now in Ann Arbor headed for Ontario today.Smaarty that is my Evie and my lovely DiL who is making sure I get photos very few days
-
Good Morning girls..... Okay, I gotta start with the last page.... Now MEMA!!! Dangit girl! Sass, is there somewhere you could post on some thread what she just said?
That is so inspiring! I'm just sorry you get to "that place" or ANY of us get in "that place" and it drives us nuts. Sometimes we just have to sink to our lowest spot, before we can get back up again......... But then it's that "one step at a time".... and we can start crawling out of that black hole again........ (and probably slip back down again) but the point is, when we are sent a life-line, we somehow use it to bring us back among the living again.
See, I can't probably help with your Meds and pain and stuff.... although I DO live in Mile-Hi Denver, where maybe a good portion of this populace ARE high, so you could come here! For the PAIN?
Just come here when you want a helping hand... We'll reach down and drag you up out of that hole... we've all been there... Amen mema...xoxoAnd yes Loverly... I just love your work! I'm always crocheting also, but mostly to keep my hands busy.... It's like a habit! Something I can't break! I could hang blankets and afghans all over the damn walls around here!
Beatmon... We don't care what you come here for....just come visit with us awhile.... Tell us how you had soup or something for dinner.... Ha! Good to see you!
Susan! Dang girl! You have 12 bathrooms? Or something like that? I'm only used to one... and darned lucky we have that! I grew up with one bathroom when we were little.... and knew nothing else....! Except I remember that out-house our baby-sitter had, out back, and you had to run through the herd of killer-geese to get TO it! Very traumatic when you are 6 years old!
And THIS little house was built in 1886... WithOUT an indoor bathroom, but one was added later.... We moved here in 1964.... All 4 of us....
See, if you wait long enough, the whole family grows up and moves out, and one bathroom is all you need....Ha!
Hi Jazzy! Talk about people walking away...... Same here.... but with me, it's because it's inevitable.... I'm getting older, and all my friends are doing the same THING!
Old Theresa, is in Assisted Living, and not doing well... My child-hood friend had a stroke, that left her not able to walk, or talk or NOTHING! And old Ruthie, 91, who I always met for lunch every month with our other "work" friends, is moving to Missouri to live with her Daughter... giving up her home..... And I've learned that old friends are with you for "awhile"... Then life changes, and we are lucky to still be here.... and having a bit of fun doing it.
Morning Spookie, Kath, and Sass! And MAGS! Beautiful picture and quilt! I love your heart wall-hanging also! And that old Steamer Trunk...! What do you keep in there? Your old RatedX tapes? That you watch every night? And your.......... um......... oh never mind. We rented one of those one time, and couldn't even get through the first 10 minutes! THOSE things are dangerous!
Hi Kjones.... Don't waste your time! You have so much to give, and things to do that make YOU happy........ You need to drink more!
Smarty...so fun to see you here all the time!
Dwill.... Just pull up a seat and stay with us...... It's okay to read lots of threads... but sometimes they kind of hit home, and make us sad.... so stick with the ones that keep you reaching for the next moment.... the ones that make you want to get up and do something.........
Rosie...! Good idea for Kath! And your little China Doll is so lucky you were there for her! China.... in those days........... didn't have much use for little girls..... But you guardian angels went to bring them "home".... Our Doctor adopted 2 of them.... and are all very happy.......
Hey HiHo! Fun to see you again! And hope you get some sleep MammaR!
Sweet picture Alyson!
Okay.... almost time to get out and water my little bushes and trees! It isn't light yet.... Where's Spookers?
-
Chevy- speaking of the green stuff up your way, I got offered an "interesting project" yesterday in the mary jane industry. My biz insurance won't cover any liability around this, so I cannot do it now, but might consider getting extra insurance should I want to do work in this arena. My first pot project! LOL!
Friends going away as we age is tough. I am seeing that too here in my mid 50s. Seen more than a few people loose battles with cancer or other genetic diseases. Those are the friends I miss. Not the fair weather types. Hugs sister.
-
Well, I am annoyed! You don't hear me share that often but there are posts all over Facebook today about the going braless thing on October 13th for breast cancer awareness. Completely inappropriate and insensitive to women who have gone through this or are fighting it.
On a brighter note, it is my nephews birthday so I am going to focus on that instead!
-
Jazzy: definitely focus on the nephew's birthday! So dish: cake? presents?
(deeply grateful that my corner of facebook seems to have missed that particular meme)
-
Hmmmph, I go bra less every day. If I was on FB I'd post a pic as to why!!
I'm up Chevy. Have port flush today.
-
Alyson, your Evie is very cute. Is she going to be a redhead? My Evie won't be here until February. Curious to see what she looks like. Her momma is the one grandchild that looks the most like me.
Hin1, he was performing, just being a "regular" guy.
BBL, have to organize some stuff before I go to my sisters
-
Queen- my nephew lives elsewhere, in the military and sent him his presents. Need to send a b-day text next. He is a texting kind of guy!
-
Some final balloon photos from my camera on Sunday morning!
-
Mag, nice bedroom! Love the old world looking chest.
Evie is so cute, Ms. Alyson....just want to bite her!
Ms. Smaarty, can't wait to see what your Evie will look like.
Jazzy, it must be neat living in NM. Always thought differently about the state-UFOs, weird ppl, etc.. There is always new things to learn.
Ms. Chevester, you rented what!!!! Oh my dear.....hahahahaha. And BTW, I have not crocheted for over 20+ years. I am not as talented as ENERVA. I kind of worry about you. Last time you called me Rose. Still love you anyway.
Susan, He is good all the time. Hug
Husband is home safely. PTL. It was a challenge trying to find ta taxi, but did find one in the end. He had to pay triple the amount which was ok.
Mamma, hope you get better sleep tonight. Have you considered Ativan? Helps calm the mind. Sleep is important. Don't worry about addiction if you are taking it as at night as needed
Amen Mem
-
Loveroflife- there definately are weird people here. I may be one of them too! LOL!
-
Now, you are scaring me! I was told I am weird also....no, no, no...I like to think that my mind works differently. Eccentric sometimes, but normal most of the time. Haha
-
lover, you seemed perfectly normal to me! But then again, great minds think alike. We need to get together again
-
I am a non-conformist and free spirit. That is what people have told me my whole life. I also had an aunt who "got me" and said I walk to the beat of my own drum. I like that one too!
As much as people think I am cool, they also don't like the way I am unwilling to align with their thinking and belief systems. Sometimes it is hard to be me!
-
such a cute baby
Chevy, stop skimming...lol. 2 and a half...I wrote it out for you...lol. Grew up with one. And no shower. How ever did we get by??
Hang in there mamba Ray. Prayers and hugs to you
I am feeling good again. Haven't felt this good in 5 months. Dairy and gluten free for 7 days now, with a probiotic. My intestines aren't working as well as should be. Prob won't get better cause of treatments. But I think we finally got to a good place. Lots of homemade soup and easy digestible stuff. Just gotta be more prepared. I love cooking, just got lazy there for awhile.
Gooooooo Cubs
Have a blessed day everyone
-
Kjones and dwill, being a hermit is sometimes, a good thing. Going into your self, is sometimes, a good thing. Staying there is not. That has always been my problem. Please feel free to pm me or call me. I'm just a smidgeon away! Sometimes it helps to know someone is just breathing on the line, not talking, just hearing. I've fought depression forever but I'm also a funny person. Most comedians are.
Mags, love the room. Chevy, here's your pic: he has toothpick legs but makes up for it
-
Okay, I just organized our basement! DH helped me get things up the tiny stairs.... Now I just have to get DD to take the nice winter boots, etc.
Oh? Black Socks? And hairy legs? Hah! I didn't miss that one.... And who bought him those Tangerine shorts? Does he go out and water the lawn in front of all your neighbors? And you say he "makes up for "it"?..... Like I don't know what you are insinuating! Hah! Does he have any idea of how we talk about him? Bet not!
Yes Loverly! Don't they still have BlockBuster video rerntals? Why would anyone BUY a XXXX rated movie? Don't you only watch them once? I mean Magic Mike was GREAT..... And the second one ....well, I deserved that....
Jazzy.... You have a drum? And what happened with the Pan Drums? I remember you talking about them!
Susan.... You are feeling GOOD!!!!! Yay! STAY that way! xoxoxo
-
mema-AMEN ..OH chickiepoo hugs, I think we are all in the same kettle. I think that b/c we hold each other so tight. Someone has a problem, we all just jump in. Toilets, infections, cats nosing around, bocci balls while listening to tinnitus modal music from ancient Greece.
-
Jazzy, this is soooo funny. Wouldn't it be great to have a movie of all the people that encountered it. I can see people tripping, being confused, stopping and then walking around it...all sorts of things
Not that tripping is funny. I do know though. If I would be walking along and see this, I would fall on my face.
-
Rosie, it feels wonderful
wonderful. Humbling too. That so many exceptional woman choose to be here. Honored. Then each here, draws another here
Kristin, however you need to be here...it's fine with us. I have progressively let go of the outside world. I can think here. The outside world doesn't want that as much. Here is my primary place--my center. I go to the science forum when I want to use that part of my mind. W&F's when I crave visual/funny stuff. Also, when I get the need to find things for W&F's, I'm thinking how it will make people happy. So, W&F's keeps my mind working too, but differently
Then they're several Housekeeping Threads(working)--constipation, port, etc. Where I have a nursing skill that may be helpful. Other threads fufill needs i.e Pinktober Revoultion and Steam Room. I created Steam Room for Rosie when Death and Dying thread was so hurtful. Rosies' never used it, but it has meet a need for others. Each thread is like the chapter index of a book.
They're is about 600,000+ viewings for the threads I've created. Not boasting
, but it does make me happy. Happy b/c they help others for something they need at that moment. I remember coming here to BCO b/c I needed. I barged into Foobville. The gals there were uncomfortable with me, but I didn't know how to fix it. Then time went on and I moved on. Foobville retrospectively was a group that were passed treatment and the troubled time, I was just beginning. I learned to understand threads. Technical , social, and technical that turn social.
Here we have the unique scenario of accepting everyone. That's not common. It takes rare people to make this work.
That's it, we're rare
-
Dwilli, missed you, I thought you were gone
How's school? Do pop in more.
H1O well that was fun. How did he play? Any good?
