I'm freaking out here!

Hey all,

I just had a biopsy on Friday, the staff did a great job and there is minimal pain. The concern I have is that they had a REALLY hard time piercing the mass. The needle just kept bouncing off the mass. They tried a fine needle biopsy but it was not fluid filled. They then took 7 samples by core biopsy. I'm waiting for results and I'm scared. It doesn't make sense that they had such a hard time. The mass showed up on mammogram, ultrasound, and MRI. The MRI also said there was blood flow. The ultrasound showed irregular margins. Why does it take so long to get biopsy results!?!?!?!? I'm Bi-Rads 4, anyone have knowledge?

so sorry for your trouble.... my last biopsy the Dr had a hard time getting the sample..was birads 4....results were benign fibroadenoma with calcifications....please let us know how it turns out.

The waiting and wondering is very difficult and causes much stress and anxiety. However, maybe you will get your results back quickly. The results of my biopsy were back in 3 days. Did they give you any indication of when you will get the results? Good luck. I am praying for a benign finding for you.

it was a friday biopsy and they don't do testing over the weekend. I just called the hospital and they said someone would be calling back today, hopefully. I'm a planner, just want to start planning things and can't do that without the results. Thanks both for replying!
