LOL ksusan. Like on the rads thread where I was whining...but Doc! I like to sleep on my side. And drink. And run. And eat Brussels sprouts. And drink green tea. And eat sugar. And not go to the Dr. And eat blueberries. And watch Ancient Aliens because that show makes me laugh so hard I fell off the elliptical yesterday. Sigh....

Started walking again after BMX, then an infection put me back on the couch for a few days. 2 mile walk this afternoon. Beautiful Indian summer day.

Wow you guys have come so far! I hole everyone is so proud of themselves today...cause you are awesome!

Oh yeah I love sitting on my ass! And a lot of other really obnoxiously unhealthy behaviors. But today, I ran 4 miles and walked two, despite my weeping rad burns.

    Brava- LBF! What a warrior!

I'm cleaning out my refrigerator. Something smells funny in there.

Found some tired peppers. Have chicken broth at the ready. Making soup. Added a tired carrotand a tired green apple. Looks pretty good! We shall see.

Hello ladies! I've been lurking on this thread for a while and wanting to jump in and join you. You all are doing great with your exercise and healthy eating. And being accountable by posting your daily activities!

I've been moderately active throughout my treatment; surgery and chemo so far. A lot of my physical activity occurs at my work (housecleaning for others part-time). It isn't aerobic but it does involve almost constant movement. I generally work 2-1/2 or more hours per day; sometimes over 8, but an average of 5 or 6 hours per day M-F. I was lucky in that I was able to keep working throughout my chemo. I worked a long day the day after my biopsy/lumpectomy surgery. I did take 3 weeks of after my BMx and an occasional day for out of town doctor appointments, but was able to schedule work around chemo treatments and local doctor appointments. My other regular exercise has been riding my bike to work one day a week and dancing during theatre practice several times a week. I'm generally too busy with life (shuttling my 16 yo dd to activities ~ we live at least 20 minutes away from anything) and being a single mom during the week (my husband lives about an hour and a half away and we alternate weekends between his place and ours) to dedicate much time to non-productive exercise. With reduced daylight hours in the fall and winter, I expect to have a hard time adding anything extra in. We do heat with wood (only ~ no thermostat in our shack) so chopping wood is part of my regular fall/winter routine as well.

I started radiation treatments on Wednesday the 7th. The radiation facility is over 4 hours from home and about 3 hours from my husband's place, so I'm staying out of town during the week until I finish on the 28th. This week we're all staying with my m-i-l but on Tuesday I'll move to the cancer lodge in Victoria. I brought my bike down here with me so I can keep active since I won't be working and will miss the weekday theatre rehearsals. Today I rode my bike for about an hour and went between 18-1/2 to 19 km on a great loop trail around the airport (twice).

I've been working hard on eating a very healthy diet and staying really well hydrated. My goals are 100 oz of non-caffeinated, non-alcoholic beverages per day, 100 g of protein, and 8-10 servings of fruits and vegetables. So far I'm at 83oz, 44g, and 7 servings. Our Canadian Thanksgiving is tomorrow, but we're having the fancy dinner tonight since my husband and daughter are heading back up-island tomorrow. I'm sure I'll exceed all my goals today.

Thanks for letting me join you and keep u the great work everyone!

Edited to update final numbers; 107 oz (not counting the glass of wine), 100g+ (didn't weigh the portion of turkey), 12 servings

Welcome, Kornelia! It sounds like you have a good plan. Happy Thanksgiving!

For those following along at home, I just posted my hair at 18 weeks PFC in the April chemo thread and my radiation field at ~7 weeks PFR in summer radiation.

Thanks ksusan. Awesome hair! I'm one month PFC and just starting to see some very light peach fuzz. All my eyelashes are gone and my eyebrows are half gone and still thinning. I'm hoping for enough hair to go without head-coverings by Christmas.

    10/11: Fitbit steps + resistance band + stretches + 1.0 hr T (2.45 MPH) = 5.06 miles

Pretty tired--low-key day. Rather a lot of vertigo so I'm not slinging weights around.

Managed to dodge the rain and get my bike ride in during a very light/almost non-existant drizzle; 18.8km around the airport (twice). Also 100 oz fluids, 110g protein, 11 servings fruits & veggies. The weather forecasters are predicting cloudy to clearing tomorrow so I'm hopeful for a very nice bike ride from my m-i-l's place in Sidney to the cancer lodge where I'll be staying in Victoria.

    Good work, Kornelia!

Instead of sleeping, my lovely wife is booking a vacation for us for next year. She's got the planes set up; now it's a matter of calling the tour company in the morning and setting up a couple of before- and after-tour hotels. Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania. This makes up for the Eastern Europe part of our missed Europe-by-train adventure that we had to cancel this year on account of that pesky cancer. (There were 9 other countries we're going to miss, so we'll have to aim for those at some point.)

ksusan, your vacation sounds wonderful. I am taking vacation in April/May to Cozumel and just this early am over coffee was telling hubby that you only live once and (once we got over him playfully arguing with me over the 'once' part) that we should extend the trip (screw work) with some time in Merida and the Mayan ruins (only a few hours drive and ferry away and I've never been). So, I can definitely relate to booking vacations instead of sleeping...

Have you been to that part of the world before? I haven't but I have both relatives and a good friend from Serbia so if you want any suggestions on current places to enjoy (my good friend and a cousin both just got back)...just pm me. One thing they did: took cash with them (including cash they solicited from friends like me) and donated it to soup kitchens and such serving Syrian refugees. In Belgrade there are many opportunities to do so...and they found it to be a positive experience because they could watch the organizations in action to figure out where giving the money made the most sense. It added to their vacation, actually...

Vacations are part of well being but for now, back to walking so I can get in decent shape for the diving in Cozumel!

Thanks, Octogirl. I may PM you when we get closer. The tour's pretty fixed, but I've been known to take a day off before. We haven't been to any of those countries except Croatia.

You'll have a blast, ksusan. Do feel free to pm me.

Meanwhile, got in a mile and a half walk today. Now for a sixty mile each way drive to the 'big' city for checkups with BS and MO back to back. and maybe a decent lunch since finding such is tough in my small town...
