Raising a celebratory glass of red to you, ginger!!!Giant Congrats!

I missed the 6 pm toast as I have been visiting with DS in Ottawa. But I am planning on taking a special bottle of wine to my mom's on Monday for (Canadian) Thanksgiving dinner. I've been saving it...might as well share it with the family! There is so much to be thankful for this year. I have come out of cancer treatment feeling well, and have high hopes of living a long and (from here on) healthy life. And my hair is coming in nicely!
Lynne, good luck to you in deciding what to do about your relationship. Hugs!!!
Steph, great news! I am so glad you don't need more surgery.
DH and I fly home tomorrow...stay overnight at my daughter's before heading to our place. It has been a lovely visit in Ottawa, we have done so much and have had a great visit with DS. It's tough with him living so far away, we only see him once or twice a year. He is doing so well though and is happy, we're so proud of him.
Happy Thanksgiving to any Canadians here (if there are any!) - happy Columbus Day to everyone else!
Andrea

Still trying to catch up. Sorry Lynne, for the troubles with your DH.
Andrea, and our other friends north of the border... I hope you had a great Thsnksgiving!
Well my area of moist desquamation in the central axilla seems to be healing. I have more areas towards the front of the axilla that were in the boost area that have the moist peel going on, but they are very uncomfortable but not unbearable like the others... Which I hope means I am turning the corner. The other areas with a dry peel are only a little uncomfortable ... They look much worse than they feel. I am working on range of motion daily. I think it's improving

Hi - I didn't pop on to say it, but I had my toast to us last night. I finished up some yummy Butternut chardonnay.
Thanks for the words of support. It helps.
I know it's morbid, but I keep thinking that if I am gone in the next few years, that my children will suffer - DH just doesn't want to parent. Oh well, hopefully I'll be around for a long time.
Lynne
-
I toasted with a glass of chardonnay during a soak in a warm bathtub.
-
Sounds like a pretty good reason not to kick off just yet, Lynne. Want us to smack him for you?:)
-
ks- lovely idea about toasting in the tub. I think I'll try that with a fizzy bomb tonight!
-
Epsom salts with bergamot bath salts for me!
-
bergamot! How interesting. Will you share the imparted properties? My fizzy bomb was a common lavender and chamomile. I'm intrigued. 🙏🏻
-
Bergamot...from the crank case of a whale??? Oh wait that's ambergris..
Just kidding! Man I have bath envy...come on chest. Heal up!
-
I don't know of any properties, other than making one smell like Earl Grey.
-
couldn't you just dab a few used teabags behind your ears? Haha. You both just crack.me.up.
-
Yes, but I'll still need an Epsom salt soak (= magnesium for the legs).
-
Of course. I understand perfectly. I buy in big containers.
Well the biggest ones they have. $6.50 for 4 lbs. I use it generously. When I'm not drinking wine and having a fizzy bomb, that is
-
Me too, littleblue. I'd love to soak in the tub. Hopefully the rads will resume tomorrow and I can get this over with.
-
Although I'm pretty sure I'd corner the market on whale crank case oil if it was available. Right now I'd kill and render down a unicorn for grease if I saw one just on the off chance it would help my skin..

18 weeks PFC.

Fast, crazy travel weekend south to take care of more business with mom since father in law passed. Got to see my son and enjoy a nice Saturday night dinner. A toast I also did with a nice grape juice.
Andrea hope you have had a great Thanksgiving. Yep so much to be grateful for. I so agree.
Karen, i hope you can slow down a bit and rest next week.
Just started reading Better by Amy Robach, Good Morning America anchor. I'm not usually up for this kind of read. I read to escape and love suspense. But I was interested in her perspective and story. Her and Robin Roberts amaze me with their energy.
How many of us now are still in rads? Praying for you and hoping for fast healing. I'm at the itching, peeling stage but pain has subsided.
-
Ksusan- lmfao that is so twisted! Also nice hair.
Renee, glad to hear you are healing. It sounds like you have been really busy.
-
had a follow up today- didn't need blood work mo said my last blood work was good. Have a follow up in another 3 months. Told him more details about the trail that's coming out for tn. Hoping to hear something soon from mayo about it. You hear anything yet Jen
-
Steph - CONGRATS!!!
Susan- that's a lot of hair!!!
-
Susan, your hair looks fabulous!
Addie, that sounds like a great appointment.
Renee, Let us know if it's a good book!
Jen, I hope you start feeling some relief.
I see my MO tomorrow for my first follow up since Taxol 11. I just started Letrozole today. So far, no issues. I think it takes a few months before problems kick in, but I will just assume I will have no issues until proven otherwise!
I posted this in the March group. I will repost it here............. I am going to share a story that's made me pretty sad. It is about a friend/neighbor who finished the same chemo regimen about 2 months before me. She just died a few days ago. Very, very suddenly...was doing yard work, felt ill, laid down and did not wake up. I did not post it in case it was related to treatment. I just spoke to her husband. She had a massive heart attack. Her arteries looked like this had been building for years and years per her husband who just got autopsy results. It had nothing to do with her cancer or treatments that they could see. He mentioned that she had been having symptoms such as extreme exhaustion with very little exertion. She figured it was related to chemo and rads. I am mentioning this because as devastated as I am by her loss, I do not want it to occur to anyone else. I implore you that if you are having symptoms that do not seem right, it may not be related to this cancer crap. Please, please, please get it checked. We've worked too hard to get through this cancer crap to let something like that happen.
-
Aw, Karen, so sorry for your loss. That is so sad! Is that the one that you celebrated her last chemo? What a shame. Good heads up, though, not to make any assumptions.
-
Kbee, I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you so much for sharing her story -it may well save quite a few lives. Prayers for her friends and family.
Addie, nope no word yet. I will call them if I don't heAR by Wednesday or so. It's so hard to wait! Glad you got to skip the vampires this time! I get blood work every single visit. It's only every 3 months, but yeesh.
-
kbeee, I am sorry to hear about your friend. It's so terrible for her family to lose her so suddenly after beating cancer. She and her friends and family will be in my prayers.
-
Day five post ear surgery....derm did a great job reshaping my ear. Sutures can't be removed until we are in Illinois, so I guess I will be asking b.s. or p.s. if they have someone who can quickly snip them out...or maybe they can do it while I am getting bmx on Monday. I am greatly appreciative that derm gave me a lidocaine prescription. I am slathering that stuff on 4 times a day.
-
oh, Karen, wow so sorry. Geez to make it thru all that cancer crap and then that! Some things just no explaining. So upsetting. I agree check anything and everything and not assume it is chemo and rads. Hope you are healing well?!!
-
Dizz, Ouch! That looks like a sore spot for stitches!
I had my first follow up with MO today post chemo. All of my CBC bloodwork was within normal limits. It's funny looking at the results because they look so high after seeing such low ones for months!!! The other bloodwork which measures liver function and such always takes 24 hours. I am not worried about that though. I asked about thyroid testing in the future once per year since radiation to the neck is associated with increased rates of thyroid cancer. He said we can run those blood tests, and he also will address my concerns about lumps I had previously under my pec muscle (which is where one of my tumors recurred). He addressed everything and we have a plan for everything. He also reffered me to a urologist for the blood in my urine, which tested positive again today. My MO is truly the most caring doctor I have every had for anything in my life. I am lucky he's my doc.
-
Dizz, you look punk!
Kbeee, glad your numbers are looking good!
