Scottie: Hope your child heals quickly and hope you aren't getting sick also.
Outrunning: Have a great time this weekend!
Hi Everyone. Walked/ran this evening and of course painted pumpkins. I'm now at 41 and have 3 more to do this weekend. Here are a few more pictures of them.
-
Dear Wonderland, those pumpkins are amazing!!!
Ruth, how fun that you are subbing, no wonder you look so young!!!
Cleaning and sculpting today!!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!!
-
Wonderland. . .love the pumpkins. My son's school decorates pumpkins each October to sell as part of their effort to raise money for BC. Last year I bought the ones from his class and will do so again this year. I was absolutely floored when the school voted last year to donate their raised funds to our family after my diagnosis. I will keep paying that forward for others.
Unfortunately I do have ds's infection. Living on the theraflu and Motrin for the weekend and have a doctor's appt. on Monday Holiday.
Walked 3 miles earlier today before soccer game and now at the gym tonight trying to run up my Fitbit and get past my 1 year BC anniversary funk. Execise definitely helps.

Hello, everyone. I haven't checked in since Tuesday. so adding my Wednesday walk or 25 minutes. Today was a perfect fall day. A lot of people out and about enjoying the fall colors, baseball playoffs and the 3 day weekend (well for some people). I walked 1 hour 4 minutes around the lake, running just two times in that session. My foot and hip have started to hurt a little with these runs, so I'm trying to continue a bit without injuring myself. I then came home and mowed the lawn for 1 hour 10 minutes. I didn't want to, but I also didn't want to do it tomorrow.
Scottie, your year of hell is over. That is how I would look at it.
Mary, I enjoyed the baseball wedding photos! Love that wedding cake.
-
Hope everyone who is under the weather is soon on the mend.
Gorgeous day here too. Did rocks, walked over for coffee at the nursing home with my old lady friend, walked home, more rocks. At 6:30 pm, when we got as far as we had planned for the day, DH threw his gear in the car & went fishing and I wandered around the neighborhood taking sunset pictures.
-
Right out my front door!
-
One more:
-
I love sunset. My sister, who will live with me starting Nov 1st, loves the sunrise. We are always opposite - funny. I tell her my eyes are barely open at sunrise so I prefer sunset. Now when we start looking for a house to buy she wants east facing lanai (which we now have in the rental) and I want west. We need to find a house with a porch (none on this one) and then the lanai can face one way and the porch the other. See - compromise.
-
10/10- getting back into my routines here once again after some travel. Went to the gym today for a 35 min work out with weights. Tomorrow is walking and later, swimming!
-
i love Jazz....I first read your post as 35 miles!!!!
-
Karen- if I do 35 miles with anything, it would be amazing!
-
Jazz...that's why I had to go back and read it a second time!!!
-
Wonderland I love your artistic ability, those pumpkins are fabulous.
Scottie, I hope your funk passes quickly. Ruth beautiful pictures I love the sunsets. TH I would love to look at fall colors, one of my favourite vacations was with my BFF from Australia where we did a fall foliage tour of the east coast, I didn't have a clue how the toll system worked in NJ so I panicked and got off and we ended up driving through absolutely gorgeous small towns and had a great adventure
My goodness we are experiencing the most debilitating heat, on Friday at lunchtime I posted my weather app on FB and it was 92 and it just got hotter, yesterday my phone said Huntington was 103 it was unbearable and today it's already warm, fortunately I'm meeting friends and going to the movies to sit in air conditioning, Ruth invited me to ND but I knew she would make to tote rocks so I respectfully declined
Yesterday I did a trifecta - Grit Cardio, Body Pump then Zumba and this morning went to Body Pump, you really shouldn't do it two days in a row but I needed to get out of the gym early. Have a great sunday everyone.
-
Arrived in Cabo yesterday with 14 friends for a 40th birthday celebration week. 12 hours of much needed sleep. Hit the gym this morning & pushed out 6.25 miles on the treadmill. Perfect start to a vacation!
Your pumpkins are amazing wonderland!!
-
Wonderland- I had to scroll up for the pumpkins, those are so beautiful!
-
Ruth, we've had all kinds of exercise on this thread, but I think "did rocks" is a first. I concur its a workout though!
Patoo, it sounds like you'll need a wraparound porch! I completely understand the importance of the direction a house faces. I have a huge window that faces south and it saves my sanity in the winter and early mornings I can see the sunrise if I sit on the sofa. Beautiful.
Cheryl that is a great fall thing to do, just start driving down some backroads. I bet that was fun. I hope you get a cooling off soon!
Angie, have a great vacation. What a great way to celebrate a birthday.
Going for a walk on yet another beautiful day. Waiting for my husband to get ready.
-
Church then 2 hours in the doing aerobics in the pool. Time for dinner.
-
Cheryl, if you don't want to do rocks, there is always leaf raking!
I did a lower body toning DVD this morning (my upper body is getting enough naturally!), and spent the afternoon in the yard....progress is being made, but we still have quite a ways to go. 14,000 steps on the fitbit without any formal aerobic exercise!
-
Scottie: How nice of your son's school to do that for you! Sorry you're sick but glad you have a doctor's appointment.
Angie: Have a great vacation!
Cheryl: Yuck on your heat wave. Lots of sweating I'm sure.
Ruth: Rock on!
Thanks for all the comments on the pumpkins. They are definitely keeping me busy.
Walked/ran this evening.
-
Wonderdland, love the pumpkins and Mary, miss crabby in the wedding dress is darling. Go Momwriter and welcome to LPODE thread!
I have been covering like crazy and got #70 down pat. Was semi-yelled at by a woman who said she could not hear me over the music so I turned up the mic volume up. She then had a go at me afterwards, that I should have turned the music down. Listened intently and calmly said, I'm sorry, the music is at it's at the proper volume and Body Balance is music dependent excercise, as we have to hear it, feel it and move to it - on cues. She then stayed for the next class, called stretch, tone and relax and seemed to enjoy the the ELDOA method stretches I threw in. Here, take take a look (very odd looking but works) http://www.eldoamethod.com/about/
-
Lilac - great way to handle the truculent student! Wonder - love the pumpkins. I don't have an artistic bone in my body, so I always appreciate seeing work by someone who does! Scottie - hope you're on the upswing soon. Ruth - LOL on the rocks - maybe you could come up with a new exercise craze.
Seven mile run Saturday morning on the C&O Canal - it was a beautiful fall day to run along the river. Napped and relaxed at the cabin the rest of the day - leaves are at about 30% up there. Did some much-needed yoga stretches and foam roller work this morning. Lilac - your ELDOA stretches look like something I could use.
-
lilac I wish I could take your classes
Nats I haven't run the C&O I should try it I guess.
4.5 today. Almost wiped out on a rock just after 1 mile but somehow managed to not go down. Whew. Not withstanding the leaves hiding vengeful rocks it was a beautiful morning for a run.
Now off for more steps at the pumpkin farm.
-
MO appt this morning then went for nice walk along the lake, had lunch on the water and now home for another appt this afternoon. MO quite happy with me (and I with her!)
-
pumpkin farm fall festival added another 2.25 miles to the day. Probably still not enough to work off the pie, ice cream, Carmel Apple and Apple cider slushy I ate there. Plus cider donut to be eaten at home.
-
outrunning you have just identified the source of my trouble in the fall! All my cravings in one season, apple cider donuts, caramel apples, pumpkin pie...
Walked 45 minutes with my hubby last night. My friend and I started a five day trial at the fitness center today so I did 30 minutes strength training, 15 treadmill.
-
Yoga, cleaned the house (the wind was HOWLING so I got a reprieve from yard-work) & bought groceries for my neglected larder (I didn't even have a stick of butter left in the fridge!), did Zumba and then picked up many, many branches from the yard (the silver lining of wind storms is that your trees prune themselves!).
-
Catching up after a long and frustrating week. Only managed to get to bootcamp on Thursday night. Due to various calamities, no other exercise during the week. Saturday I was able to get some walking in while shopping for a new dishwasher. Spent Sunday enjoying some needed downtime and gorgeous weather at a local winery with my bootcamp group. Was alot of fun to see everyone in normal clothes not gasping for air.. LOL.. Did manage to get back to bootcamp tonight.
Scottie, that is a great thing that the school does each year selling the pumpkins. . Hope you feel better soon!
Wonderland, you are very talented as the pumpkins are beautiful.
Lilacblue, way to go handling the difficult student.
Mary, great baseball wedding. What a fun theme.
Cheryl, sending cool breezes your way. Ruth, I don't envy your Rick exercise regimen. That is hard work.
Received my biopsy results which showed no cancer however my gyn did not like how thick my lining is now thanks to the Tamoxifen. She wants to put me on a progesterone medicine for 10 days that would make me shed the lining. My cancer was ER/PR positive but she feels the short duration won't have any adverse effects. She is probably right but I am still a nervous nellie sometimes. How can I say no when it sounds like so much fun?
-
Argh, Odie, I hate body things!!!! Should you run the progesterone idea past your onc?
If only your typo were true and it was a RICK, not ROCK, exercise regimen!
-
Wonderland-Your pumpkins are so creative! I bet your fundraiser will do great!
Outrunning- Beautiful picture!
Ruth-You always inspire me to keep moving!
Here's a picture of my daughter and I from yesterday's walk. We walked 4 miles.
-
Looking good, Annie!
