Breast cancer
Hello beauties, 9/25/2015 I found a lump on my left breast. It didn't hurt at all but later that night I did a self breast exam and there it was again I after I did the exam it felt sore and it been sore ever since. Saw a doctor just to be sure what I was feeling she told she was giving me a referral for a ultrasound .I'm so scared I have been crying ever since I found the lump. I'm 39 years old I have no kids and I suppose to be getting married I was so happy til I found the this thing. Now when I went to get the ultrasound it hurt my left breast so much I went home in tears before I left I tried asking questions but no one could give me any answers they told me if something was wrong the doctor would call me. I'm so scared I have anxiety I can't sleep I haven't been eating right. I don't want to die not yet at least. I guess deep down inside I know it's cancer. What hurts me the most is seeing my boyfriend worried about me i haven't told my family yet scare to they all have problems of there own.

Well it may not be cancer. When I had my ultra sound the doctor was very worried and scheduled me right a way for biopsy. If you are asked to do a biopsy 80% come back as not cancer. Good luck try to relax. If you don't hear soon call the doctor's.
-
dr came into room after my ultrasound and said I needed a biopsy. Birad4. BreastS have lumps and cysts. I wouldn't worry unless they said something. Get a copy of your report and get your mammo when required. Stay calm and postivie

so I got a call from the doctor said I need to go a mammogram. So I'll be going Monday. I'm scared and full of anxiety I can't even enjoy my life just thinking I could have cancer. I wouldn't even know what to do if it turns out that I do have cancer what are the next steps to I have no insurance. I'm so scared and worried

So I'm going to get a mammogram tomorrow. I'm scared because I already had an ultrasound and they call me back for a mammogram. I have a lump on my left breast it's sore when I touch. I have soreness in left shoulder blade and arm. I'm so scared it's cancer. I don't know if the shoulder soreness is from stressing or what but I'm nervous.

Dear Molly:
Good luck tomorrow at your mammogram appointment. Write down questions and bring the questions with you to the appointment. That may give you peace of mind. If something is found and you need to have a biopsy, please know that 80% of lumps are benign. It is a very scary process and not knowing is terrifying. However, most likely, the lump will be benign. Ask the doctor what you need to do so that you will not worry about the next steps that you will need to take if, God forbid, something is found. I wish you the best.

so I went for a mammogram this past Monday. I asked a lot of questions but didn't get no answers just that I would be getting a letter in the mail in a week has this happened to anyone. I have lump on my left breast on the outer side it didn't hurt at all but when I was feeling for the lump it got sore and now I have soreness in my arm my shoulder blade and like it runs down my back to my butt. I have been having a lot of anxiety and panic attacks I end up going to the er 2 times already I thought I was having a heart attack they did blood work and urine text Dr. side everything was normal and that I wasn't having a heart attack I have been shaking with fear at this point nothing calms me down. I have been praying nonstop
-
So I my mammogram results today saying normal/negative No cancer. Goes on to say right subareolar ultrasound shows a centimeter probably a benign cysts left breast subareolar ultrasound shows some centimeter probably benign cysts in 1 cm hypoechoic probably benign oval structure BI-RADS Category. ACR Category 2 benign recommendations one year mammogram follow-up BIRADS Category 2 benign what does that mean do I have cancer or I don't have cancer this is driving me crazy I so much anxiety and panic.
-
Hi, Molly. You do not have cancer! You have cysts and these can sometimes be very painful, but benign. Take good care and make sure that you follow up with your mammo next year to make sure there are no changes next year I hope the soreness in your breast goes away. Be happy!!!

u must think I'm a big baby. Just with see my results say BI-RADS Category 0 incomplete, need additional imaging evaluation. Still scareds me so much I have been praying so much the Lord probably tired of me crying like a baby.
-
Feeling a lump and having pain is terrifying. Waiting for results is awful. The pathology report uses medical terminology which may be hard to decipher. It is a difficult time for you and very stressful and anxiety provoking. Thank God that there was no malignancy found. Feel better and good luck. -
thank you so much makes me feel a little better. I did an ultrasound and a mammogram and all they can tell me is it's probably benign cysts but they suggested a bilateral mammogram how many mammogram can you get.
-
Hey molly76
I'm happy it's not malignant darling
To answer your question about mammograms, I believe they are given during the screening process to rule things out you will prob just get one. They will most likely follow up with you again for monitoring annually or as they see fit.
Just a thought.... if your cyst is fluid filled, can your health provider do a fine needle aspiration and get the fluid sent for analysis. I'm the type of patient that needs confirmation from a pathologist. If possible get them to do this , so far they have identified by what is seen through imaging. If it's solid, it can be removed and also sent for analysis.
Hope your in better spirits!

so my letter said BI-RADS Category 0 incomplete needed imaging evaluation. They found probably benign cysts in my breasts. I wanted some answers I called to ask if I need another mammogram or ultrasound or they just said to follow-up next yr and that I should talk to my Dr. but it hard because I don't have a Dr. I just need someone to tell me what is going on or what should I do. should I go to the ER I'm in pain on my outer side of my left breast. I feel like a chicken with my head cut off running around bumping into walls.
-
Cysts are benign, but they hurt. The ER is an inappropriate place to go for breast pain. They are not equipped to evaluate you and the diagnosis of cysts sounds like a normal reason for the breast pain. They will tell you to take some advil and follow up with a doctor
-
yes I know the ER is not going to do anything for me. I went in because I thought I was having a heart attack about 5 days ago and they didn't do much then gave me baby aspirin and said your ok. My anxiety is getting the best of me taking anxiety meds not helping
-
BIRADS 0: inconclusive, needs further workup, more imaging. (The majority of followup imaging rules out needing a biopsy, and the majority of biopsies rule out cancer).
BIRADS 1: normal, nothing out of the ordinary
BIRADS 2: benign--which means that there’s something there but it’s NOT CANCER (most likely a cyst, which hurts but is harmless). Should be followed up annually, but it’s no threat to you! No big deal, unless it hurts so much that you want it taken care of or at least do something to relieve the pain.
So take a deep breath and give thanks you’re out of the woods. You have less than a 10% chance over your lifetime (some say even less) of getting breast cancer. (If seeing all of us b.c. patients here online freaks you out, rest assured we’re on here because this is the best place we can gather to help and draw strength and knowledge from each other--as a sisterhood we’re still a small percentage of all adult women and you are quite unlikely ever to find yourself among us....except to seek advice, which we’re glad to give).
If anxiety meds aren’t helping, maybe counseling, a support group or some activity that you find calming or diverting will help you. Or perhaps you’re on the wrong medication and a different one might work. Sometimes it takes trial and error to find one that works, and a good psychiatrist, psychologist or psychiatric social worker can help you find the best way to deal with your anxiety (a psychologist or social worker can get a psychiatrist or other MD to write the appropriate prescription). Panic attacks are scary--people who never had one tend to dismiss them, but they’re no joke.
And sometimes worrying about how much others will worry is more stressful than finally letting them know. People will want to help, just as if the tables were turned you’d be the first one to offer a helping hand and a supportive shoulder!
-
Thank you chiSandy I'm just going to take it one day at a time. I have been reading to much scary stuff online giving myself anxiety and panic. The mind can play tricks on you sometimes.
