Welcome all, KarenAus, Cinque and Texasrose53. This is a great group and does keep you motivated without trying to keep up with anyone except yourself.

Walked for a bit looking at houses with a friend. Now getting ready to take out my bike and maybe workout in the pool later.

Karenaus it's good to get back to something you love. I remember how excited I was to be able to ride a bike and go to the pool.

Heidi I'd be thrilled to get to the good or excellent category. Good for you!

Patoo I'd love to be a snowbird. If I thought they'd let me work remotely I could!

Cheryl I think hanging with young fit instructors also makes you smarter!

25 minute walk today but I also walked to another building for meetings today and yesterday. I'm not sure how many minutes that adds but I did reach more than 10,000 steps.

Short (21 minute) walk tonight since yesterday was a bit intense and today was generally busy.

I've been doing Fitbit challenges with other friends who have one to try to keep motivation up. It seems to help.

    Welcome to the newcomers!!

Patoo, thanks for providing the video suggestions as well as your faith in me. Unfortunately any video of me dancing on the treadmill would more likely be a comedy! Possibly ending in tragedy...LOL Will definitely try the HITT workout as I do my own version sometimes. I do love to dance, just not coordinated enough to do it while on the treadmill.

My exercise over the weekend was a couple of walks and lots of housecleaning chores. In light of the rainy weather, I chose to clean out the pantry to donate canned goods for our office food drive.

Lilacblue, congrats on getting the first class for the new release under your belt.

Sending hugs to everyone. Sweet dreams!

Welcome new ladies. We are very glad to see you over here & I love the visual of actually 'getting back into the saddle'......very cool!

I had a busy day; subbed, worked on the (endless) yard project, went to Barre & from there to a volleyball match (which my team thankfully won in 3 sets so that I could go home). Last week someone asked me about how we have a Barre class in small town North Dakota. One of my yoga teachers is always going all over the place to workshops, heard about it, decided it sounded interesting so took a class & got certified to teach it. Lucky for us!!!! So, if you belong to a fitness center, you might suggest it as a class that would draw interest.....or put a bug in the ear of one of your teachers.

The Wednesday Walking Women are going on a field trip to walk at a state park & look at all the leaves changing color. Should be fun!

This thread is great, period, Texasrose.

I went to a Barre class once but felt out of place among the women in their tutus and full makeup. The workout was very good though. The same teacher taught a jazz class next, which was more my pace attirewise, only there were too many moves getting on the floor and quickly back up. Ouch.

Last night was Women's Tango Night. There were only women in the class, except for the teacher. Walking with DD today.

Whew - you miss a week and pages and pages pile up! It's great to see such an active group. I'm working my way through the pages now, so if I've missed anything I'll get caught up.

We had a great time in Tennessee. The baseball wedding was fabulous - the brides is a Mets fan, so the bridesmaids were in Mets blue with orange bouquets. The groom is a Dodgers fan so the groomsmen had Dodger Blue ties and cummerbunds. Even their dogs got into the act - her pug had a little white doggie wedding dress outfit with a Mets logo on it, and the groom's basset hound had a doggie morning coat with the Dodger's logo on it. The flower girls were dressed in League Of Their Own type uniforms, and the flower petals they tossed were Mets and Dodgers colors. They were married outside, and there was a home plate at the spot where they were married. The groom's mom owns land on a hilltop with a fabulous view of the Smokey Mountains, and they have a couple of horses. It was so fun as the horses kept photobombing the wedding pictures! The reception tables had baseball decorations, and at every person's place was a little baseball helmet and a box of Cracker Jack! They had a food truck for the caterer, serving hotdogs, pulled pork sandwiches, cotton candy, etc. Guests were encouraged to wear baseball jerseys and many did. It was lots of fun!

The next day we drove through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg into Smoky Mountain National Park up to a peak where the Tennessee/North Carolina state lines run along the mountain ridge, so we were briefly in North Carolina by about 10 feet. I waved to you, Wonder - did you see me?

And yes, we did get exercise. We found a lovely state park with trails, so we did a 6 mile run on trails. Lots of inclines as we were in the foothills, so it was a good workout!!!

Been keeping up with our running clinic schedule - 6.5 miles Saturday, and 5 miles of track interval work last night. Whew!

As you can see, the pug was NOT at all happy in her wedding dress!

Where we went running - it's an old farmstead that's now a bird sanctuary.

    Table centerpieces

    image

Groom's cake (shaped like Dodger Stadium)

DH and me on top of Old Smoky - this one's for you, Wonder!

Nats, neat pictures! Looks like everyone had a great time (except the dog!).

Heidi, nobody in my class wears tutus OR makeup (it's 6:30 pm, so any makeup applied earlier in the day has worn off long before then). Yikes! I wouldn't have stayed either.

    Zumba & yoga tonight.

Just catching up. Didn't get in quite as much exercise as I had hoped over the weekend as Sunday was a run and not the long ride I had planned. Last minute invitation to an event to Boeing Field from my lovely former intern. It was fun seeing things like the Dreamliner (787) up close. Also the historic pictures in the picture gallery.

Otherwise, quite a dull life other than the trip into Seattle to see the modern dance/musical comedy/burlesque show - Burlesco Divino. That was a hoot, and helped balance out the "too much virtue" I have been suffering from recently.

Also plagued by viruses....the cold I was bound to catch, and the one that our bookkeeper's computer got from not paying enough attention to an email attachment. I still am not sure which files are OK. Major time suck for everyone concerned. So a warning to BEWARE. This one was the crypto-virus which renders files unusable by encrypting them, and then they want to ransom you the key for megabux!!!

We had volunteer work to put things right, as would have cost more than the computer was worth to fix otherwise!

No wonder I have been looking forward to my early evening walks, not to mention that the colors are glorious right now. Happy exercising everyone! - Claire

Cardio Sculpt & came home to find 6 tons of rocks in my driveway. I am NOT exaggerating! DH seriously ordered 6 tons. So......the rest of my day was spent landscaping....with much more to come, we have at least half of the rocks to go. I am glad that I am subbing tomorrow so I can have a break from the manual labor!

Welcome to all the new ladies!

Nats: I thought that was you waving to me. The wedding sounds so unique and FUN!!! Love the picture of the pug.

Ruth: Oh my! I can't imagine.

Been busy painting/decorating more pumpkins for a fundraiser for the senior day care in town. Dd is helping me now. Just finished the 33rd one last night.

We had lots of rain but no flooding like the coast and areas of South Carolina. Yesterday and today have been beautiful so I walked/ran both evenings.

    Hi all-

Ran first mile in over a year! It went pretty well. Yay!

(My foot has been bothering me- stress fracture aches. I think fish oil might be helping. Also I took an ibuprofen in advance. ).

I'm on and off this board but so happy you all are doing so great! It's encouraging just seeing it in my favorites:)

Updating for the week. . .it's been a rough one with a sick special needs child and now I think he gave it to me. Walked last Saturday in between photographing a soccer game; walked more than 5 miles Sunday while photographing the second day of Atlanta's 2-day BC Walk; Gym Monday and Wednesday and today I hiked around my lake again. My Fitbit shamed me for doing nothing yesterday.

Now I need to catch up on the all the posts.

    Welcome, momwriter!

DH is out of town for the day, so the rock pile will sit until tomorrow. (I have a renewed respect for manual laborers!)

Today I subbed, took a long walk, & am now going to do a pilates DVD.

    Happy Weekend!

Ruth....remembering those days of "picking stone" when growing up in Vermont. No fun. I have done my share of "manual labor" so totally get this.

Still dragging from this virus. Laid in some brandy for hot toddies in case I need them.

Stayed home today, but still dragged through a pile of charts for the research project I am working on. Buried beyond all recognition.

At least the crypto-virus is a thing of the past!!!

Snuck in a walk this evening, but nothing else. Better days ahead. - Claire

I only get to exercise in the mornings. Early work meeting meant nothing for me today.

Tonight packing for Cub Scout camp out tomorrow. Wished I'd put on my phone in my running thing to count all my steps and flights of stairs. I know I haven't gone far, but way more floors than it currently shows. 2nd floor to basement to attic many times tonight is helping to make up for hardlymoving out of my desk chair all day.

Ruth 6tons?! Tell DH next time to order some heavy equipment to do with that.

    Wonderland your pumpkins are amazing.
