Suspicious mass

I am yet another woman waiting for tests and diagnosis. Noticed a rough area on my left nipple maybe a month ago....didn't think anything of it. A week ago I noticed it was a scab and realized my nipple seemed like it was inverting on that side. I knew that might be an issue so went to PCP Nurse who felt a lump...( I still can't really feel it, so I guess I am bad at self exams) Had diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound that say suspicious mass. I am 46 and the youngest of 5 sisters....no history on mom's side or any sisters. My dad's sister had breast cancer.

I'm going to breast specialist tomorrow who may/may not do the biopsy tomorrow. I've been doing ok over the weekend, but of course nervous/anxious in getting these tests done. I don't know the birad numbers...no clue. Just can't really grip the idea of it being cancer. They didn't see anything suspicious on lymph node ultrasound, so hoping that is a good sign?

Hey there, just didn't want you to be alone while you waited. I'm sure someone will be along soon who has had a similar experience to yours. Until then, sending big hugs! Be strong!

Specialist did not do a biopsy today...her reasoning is that we do not have results of biopsy taken by dermatologist on my nipple last week, and if it's Paget's we will know it's cancer, so no sense in another biopsy. (Also, these doctors LOVE to keep rescheduling tests so I can wait and worry over a longer period of time)

She did tentatively schedule an stereotactic biopsy on Friday. She did not offer any other suggestions on what benign conditions could be causing my symptoms. She took blood for genetic testing. Wondering why stereotactic vs doing ultrasound guided? Is one better than the other?
