I'm pretty grossed out by my chest skin too...red/brown, patchy and peeling. It looks like I've been in a fire...which essentially I have. My pain is getting better though! No need for ibuprofen today!

I'm getting leg hair too, not happy about it. And pubes, and underarm hair. Damn. I guess it's all normal though *sigh* It's the price we pay for recovery.

I've never found shaved underarms attractive, so that's more of a "getting back to normal" for me (other than the radiated half-armpit with no hair).

hello everyone- I'm 3 days post skin sparing BMX and doing ok, they took 6 nodes all came back negative on initial path so now I'm just waiting for final path result. Still have drains but they are not draining excessively so hopefully I can get them out Friday. Pain has been fine and I'm only taking aleve am and pm and one oxycodone at night but that's more so I can sleep - having to sleep on my back is hard for me. Planning a gentle walk today need some fresh air. Still not sure if I will be getting rads I guess it will depend on final path and RO - still it's good to have this surgery over- hair is growing , mostly grey just wish it was a bit faster- eyebrows very thin and eyelashes coming back in. Anyway hope you all have a happy Tuesday !

now I have to go get a mammogram to be sure marker isn't left in me how fun that will be I am starting to feel very defeated here between the hospital stays allergic reactions during chemo sepsis hematoma from surgery blood transfusions now this if they find the clip that means I need surgery again to remove more tissue and the clip if it's not seen well who knows where it went I don't know if I will ever have closure with this

karen30 awesome. I'm glad you're feeling and doing well. Yes walking is great post surgery. Helps get bowls moving as well and get all that surgical gas out of you.

Steph- deep breath. Remember this too shall pass.

Ginger, you must feel like a queen! Or, once the side effects wear off...you are awesome. Way to power through. Xoxoxoxoxox

I took a raspberry cheesecake into my rad office- one of my techs teared up. Hope they don't notice I tagged their inspirational" cancer can't do..."sign in the exam room with a post it that read "Cancer can suck it! Kick its ass, straighten your crown, and walk away like a boss". LOL.

yes the titanium clip I had a double mastectomy apparently they saw scaring which could indicate where the cancer was and is now resolved but they can't say for sure because they couldn't find the clip if it's still left in my tissue there now I will have to get surgery again to be sure she got everything I seriously thought I was done with this but apparently not itsnever ending :(

Thanks ladies, its been such a long haul!!! What an emotional day. Friends took me to lunch at Olive Garden afterwards, they decorated our table so cute! I was at the brink of losing it so many times ....when they hung my final bag of Taxol I cried a little... and did several times with the girls. I was afraid I would sob uncontrollably at lunch, but managed not to. lol

Steph, oh no! When is the mammo? I cant imagine how that will feel so soon after surgery!

karen30, glad you're doing well! Great news from your path!! Here's to a smooth recovery and no rads!

sorry about the effects of rads on your skin, Kbeee. Thinking you and wishing it heals nicely.

I have read through everyone's posts but have had a hard time keeping up. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and just went in to see the plastic surgeon today. PS said I have no cording and breasts are healing well.

Thursday is the dermatologist, next week colonoscopy, and the week after is orthopedic surgeon...making the most of October. :)

    Retreat was wonderful and grounding

Warm wishes to all of you on these crispy autumn days!

Hey Lorraine, did everything go ok with the kids in your absense? I hope it did and that you could come home and hold on to some of that serine. Hypothyroidism? Was chemo a factor? Or would you have gotten it anyway? Hypo is low, so does that mean that you thyroid isn't performing as well as it should? Glad you caught it.
