All: Am expecting to call my BS tomorrow to discuss treatment decision and get on her and PS's schedule for CPM. Anyone know how long it typically takes....might they be able to slot me in within two-and-a-half or three weeks, for example? Boy, I'd like to get rolling with the planning and not have to stare this thing down for too much longer than that. Thanks, wonderful ladies.

I can only tell you my experience...I called Monday to let the surgeons know of my decision (to use him for surgery and which plastic surgeon I was going to use). By Friday I was getting antsy because I still had not heard about scheduling. She is still working on it. Ugh! She did tell me she is shooting for the week of Oct 19. If that's the case then it will put me 3 weeks out from when I had all my consultations. I was told by both the surgeon and plastic surgeon that they usually book 2-3 weeks out. Of course, insurance approval comes into play. I'm also having a sentinel node biopsy so they have to schedule for the dye part of it ahead of time which means there is more limitation on times of surgery. There are a lot of moving parts. And I'm with you...I've made a decision would just like to know when it's on the calendar so I can plan and then be on the other side of it already. Good luck to you!

It's going to vary. I met my surgeon on a Wednesday and had surgery the following Thursday.

I probably waited longer than many because I wanted a specific ps and breast surgeon. It took about 6 weeks to find a date that worked. It was summer and I was on vacation so I spent the time relaxing, educating myself, and preparing for the long term sub who would be teaching my class.
