edited October 2015 in Waiting for Test Results

Had the biopsy on left breast and lymph node Friday, Oct. 2. Waiting for results is hard, but since I have already made my second opinion appointment (regardless of biopsy results,) I feel that I have done all I can. I just try not to think about it. Went to the theatre yesterday ("Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" - so funny,) going again on Wednesday (musical adaptation of "October Sky.") Nothing like immersing yourself in the "suspension of disbelief" to make the time pass. Should have the results by Thursday.

Hi brithal.....it sounds like what I am dealing with. I am 66.....and all sorts of other issues going on. Dense breasts (ugh) ..all mammos normal....even the end of July. Had a ct scan for a lung issue and that was stable. I have had rheum arth for 33 yrs. so that nodule remained stable and did not grow. But the tech found multiple enlarged lymph nodes...one measuring 2.4x1.1x2.7 cm the largest. So off I go for an US at the Breast Clinic. I could never feel lumps or bumps but the tech did. The tech came back and told me that I would need a needle biopsy which is scheduled for wednesday. All appts are happening quickfire. Concerning.

I got the US results back which stated "multiple enlarged lymph nodes left axilla. the largest is noted 2.4x1.1x2.7 cm. Finding: LEFT MASS AXILLA The impression: SUSPICIOUS FOR MALIGNANCY AND I got 2 birads listed 4 & 5 which I don't understand. Now waiting for wednesdayfor the needle bx and then will be waiting some more. and prob more waiting and tests.

Gyn cancer stage 1 in 1998......surgery, chemo, radiation. all clear paps. my gyn onc said that its very rare for that area to go into the breast..

I live alone so its kind of tough. thank goodness for the 2 pets.

Hope your bx turns out at least better than expected. I know the meaning of Birad 5 and I worry also.

I hope you both get B9 results!!! The waiting can be excruciating at times. Good for you, for immersing yourself...a good way to keep your mind from wandering to dark places. ((HUGS))

Hey, keepthefaith, I know where Hutto is. The Hutto Hippos - always remembered that. I lived in Texas for a long time before moving to Illinois. Thanks for the support.

Hi DollyDimple, thanks for the support, and I hope your sweet pets give your all the love they can. I have two dogs, and they are really good at unconditional love. Lucky for me, I also have my husband of almost 47 years who is a rock. I'm 66 as well, and have been relatively healthy until now except for osteoarthritis. Had my right knee replaced two years ago, and wouldn't you know it, just as all this breast stuff started happening, the left knee is now giving me fits. I'm undergoing a series of 3 shots which will hopefully stave it off til I can get through the breast problems. One thing at a time, please.

brithael, yes, it amazes me how many people know about the Hutto Hippos! I take my oldest grandson DT to see Henrietta the Hippo when he comes to visit. He has been seeing her since he was old enough to climb on her; he is almost 7 now and still loves it!

This is a great place for support and information. It saved me from a lot of anxiety and confusion when I was DX'd. I hope you don't have to come back for help, but we are here, if you do.

I hope you get your results soon. I've been dealing with so many health concerns more than half my life. rheumatoid, lupus, scleroderma, raynauds, sjogren, lung disease and liver. I didnt have half these issues when I was 47 and going thru s 1 gyn cancer treatment. I guess we just have to hang in there. so glad you have wonderful support. Keep us posted.

    hugs..Paula

Well, we have met the enemy and he is us. Pathology came back as IDC, grade 3 with lymph node metastatic carcinoma consistent with breast primary. The good news is that it is Estrogen (98%) and Progesterone (89%) positive and HER2 negative. I guess I will now move to the Diagnosed forum.

brithael, sorry to hear of your recent DX. Cancer sucks! I know you will receive a lot of information and support on this forum, as you go through your treatment and on to recovery. Everyone here, "gets it"...it's a great place to vent, cry, scream, joke, etc. Best wishes.

DD, I hope you get good news on your results next week!:)

    ((HUGS))

My dr called and said, "Good news Paula, your pathology result are in.. no cancer. The axillary lymph node was a reactive lymph node caused by autoimmune disease, your systemic lupus, rheum arth and/or scleroderma. Its typical with autoimmune. I do want to check your CBC though".

Thankfully, I had just got back from Cleveland Clinic where they ran a CBC on Sept 28th and Dr S looked up that info in his records. Said they looked good and he would fax me a copy of my pathology report. Asked how therea was where the lymph node was located and I said I couldn't find the enlarged lymph node before so checked out the area where the Core bx was done and still couldn't find anything. I had been worried and he said, he knew I was as was he with a Birad rating of 4 and 5 noted on my US.

I just hated to go thru chemo, surgery and/or radiation during winter and maybe while trying to sell the mobile too and having to move too.
This was good news. Thank you so much for all your prayers!!!!

Hi DollyDimples ~ I'm in the Cleveland area also, and was wondering who your BS was, if you don't mind? If you are not comfortable sharing publicly, you can send me a private message. I have so many questions and am currently scheduled for a 2nd opinion at UH.. My 1st appt was with CC.

Thank you...it was a relief and I was praying for autoimmune disease to be the reason...but I know it was listed so high on the birad rating...
