I dropped dairy and am on tamox.

Jane Plant progressed quite recently. She stated that she hadn't been following her own diet very well.

I'm not convinced that no-dairy will stop me getting a reoccurance, but I am convinced that no dairy is very good for all round health.

I read her book. I found it interesting and the diet she recommends may very well help reduce one's risk of reccurance. However, the big problem is adherence-the restrictions of Ms. Plant's diet go well beyond dairy.

No matter how good a diet is, if you can't stick to it it becomes pretty worthless. Personally, I do eat very little dairy and only organic/rBST free. You can only do what you can do.

I live in Europe and eat sheep and goat dairy, mostly organic, only........I used to love strong cheddar cheese but now it just tastes greasy and a bit slimy compared to cleaner cheeses....

What I found interesting is that after diagnosis I noticed that every time I ate dairy, or chicken (also high in growth hormones) that I would get inflammation--little tender nodules along the outside of breast with original lump. Then I found and read Jane Plant's book--AFTER I had noticed the effects. At that point--I had no problem with totally stopping dairy, poultry and (almost all) meats.

I agree that it may be different for different people, especially depending on what type of BC they have. But there are definitely other overall health benefits to not eating dairy.

yes I used to love my dairy, but I completely cut it out after my dx and reading her book especially as I am ER/PR+. I also thought it was interesting that countries including Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands etc have some of the highest rates of bc in the world..and coincidentally they also consume high rates of dairy..I swapped for nut milks.

I am a Chinese who grew up without dairy product. I pretty much hate all dairy products. I still didn't eat any dairy after I came to this country. Guess what, I still got BC.

I started drinking Kefir everyday since 2 years ago after a C-diff infection. After reading this, I think I am going to go back to dairy free. Haha, easy to stop eating what I hate.

There are so many things that can cause breast cancer, dairy is (possibly) just one of them. So if I can control this one thing, I feel better that I'm doing something that will lower my risk in the future. And I've lowered my LDL a huge amount by doing it!
