Just had diagnostic mammogram

Hi all,

I just had diagnostic mammogram with magnification after annual mammo picked up clustered heterogeneous microcalcifications. Met w/ radiologist afterwards who spoke to me mostly about DCIS (stage 0) and stage 1, also indicating there is a possibility there could be more to it than what he is seeing. Biopsy scheduled for next Tuesday. Although he did discuss possibility it could be benign, he spent more time speaking to me as if he believes it is cancer. Of course I'm freaked out and not a fan of the waiting part. Not sure what I'm looking for here at this point, other than support

    Shelly, I'm so sorry you're here and going through the agony of waiting. We've all been there and remember all too well how tough that is. I know it seems impossible but try to find other things to enjoy while you're waiting. A really good movie can help.

    I hope this turns out to be entirely benign. If it's not, however, please know that we are all here for you.

    as an almost 8 year survivor of DCIS, I remember clearly the time I was in your spot

    dang but it was not nice in the waiting but my suggestion is to try to keep busy and really, maybe stay off the internet until you have more info

    deep breath, may I suggest a mani, pedi?

    We want to welcome you to our community at BCO. We're so sorry for the worry that brings you here, but you've come to the right place for support.

    The waiting is really so, so difficult. We second the suggestions mentioned above: movies and mani/pedis might be just the thing you need to take your mind off of it.

    We're crossing our fingers that everything turns out fine, but just know that either way, we're here for you!

    I feel your pain, I'm waiting for my biopsy too. They can't get me in for a week! I think I'm going to stalk the office to see if they can squeeze me in. Good luck with your biopsy.
