Depressed because my neulasta thing leaked

ugh. Noticed a wet spot on my clothing over the neulasta thing on my stomach. Tape slightly damp on one side, dry on the other side. There's no way to know for sure if I got a full dose, partial dose, or none. As of now the plan is to check my white cells on 10/5, week after chemo. I just hope I can get my next chemo as planned on 10/12. I am so hoping to stay on schedule so I can be in good shape when my mom visits.

Yes, do call. Where was it? Should not be on a LE area, it WILL leak then.

I called. They said no way to know if I got it so can't give it again. Will check my white cell count Monday 10/5

3 possibilities

1. White cell count ok 10/5, on schedule for next chemo 10/12

2. White cell count low 10/5, insurance approves neupotrin (? Something like that) still on schedule for chemo 10/12

3. White cell count low 10/5, neupotrin? Not approved,have to get neulasta shot, next chemo delayed to 10/19

I really want to stay on schedule, but I am praying for peace with whichever.

hazel - hope your white count stays high enough for your chemo schedule stays on track. If you are early in your systemic treatment, you might have a better shot as blood counts tend to stairstep down the deeper you go into treatment. The secondary drug is Neupogen - similar to Neulasta, but a daily and smaller dose. You also have another option, which is a prophylactic antibiotic taken from 10/5 to your next chemo, if your white count is determined to be low and Neupogen is not approved, which may allow you to stay on schedule.
