I do have the odd dizziness, especially after I apply Nitro Paste to my skin every afternoon. I know it lowers my blood pressure. Could it be meds? Or maybe you need to rest more? Hope it passes soon :)

I find when I'm dizzy it's often because I'm dehydrated or I am not eating enough. Just a thought. Take care of yourselves, everyone.

It's been 8 days now. I feel like I have a "reasonable" amount of energy back. I am able to go for short walks every day. I just cannot wait to get these drains out! I am upset because I should be moving forward from here but will have to undergo surgery again soon to get the expander in the right side. Then it's back to te beginning of recovery again. I am trying to focus on the big picture and that recovery IS moving forward but it is pretty tough at times. I hope you all are progressing...

    Good luck tomorrow, Pennsygal!

KellyAnn, 7 days for me. Seeing the surgeon on Friday and hoping hoping hoping the drains will soon be gone. Glad to hear you're getting your energy back. I find it's 2 steps forward, one back...

Rainnyc I think we're just counting differently... I see your surgery date was the same as mine. I'll let you know how the drain removal goes Thursday. I assume they'll be taking at least 2 of the 3 out. Hope you're doing well :

Good morning ladies. My surgery was yesterday. Got up to a room about 8pm. I'm not going to lie...its been a painful journey. Both physically & emotionally. Not sure yet but I might have to stay another night So glad that part is over😳

Now let the healing begin. It's incredibly shocking to see my flat chest bound up. Prayers for everyone awaiting surgery.

It must be a relief to have it over, cbwitt. And yes, a shock to see oneself, both bound up and unbound. It takes a while. I'm sorry it was so painful yesterday; did you get good pain control in the end?

Kelly Anne, good luck tomorrow; I hope you get your drains out!

cbwitt - Good to hear from you, and yes, this is so hard physically and emotionally. And you're quitting smoking on top of it all! That's a lot to handle all at once. Stay strong!

    stay strong cbwitt!!

I'm 13 days out now from my BLM with TE and still have two of my four drains. Plastic surgeon said I've been trying to do to much. I was told to sit and rest!! He did give me my first fill up yesterday and I'm just a little tight today. If I sit and my numbers go down he said maybe I can get one or both out Friday. Keeping my fingers crossed!!

    Best wishes everyone!!

is that the trick to stop moving?? I keep draining and I'm only 9 days out but he said we will take themout Friday I am still draining about 1 1/2 oz a day and it leaks on the sides where the tube actually exits my skin so gross I hate these things I thankfully only have 2 but can't wait to get them out!

I'm curious about criteria for drain removal? I'm assuming it's when it gets below a certain volume. I see my plastic surgeon tomorrow and two are barely draining now but the third still empties quite a bit. I want them all gone! Can't wait to sleep without 6 pillows!!

KellyAnne, my surgeon's nurse said they have to be under 30 ml/day, and I guess it has to be more clear than red. Two of mine are way under 30/ml, and the third was trending in that direction but yesterday shot way back up again.

Good luck tomorrow! I'm right behind you on Friday (unless we have a hurricane). Yup, six pillows; I feel like a standing rib roast arranged on a platter and surrounded by potatoes!

I was also told the magic number is 30cc in a 24hr time frame. And the color also has to be more clear. I've been sitting in the recliner most of the day. Fingers crossed this helps!!

So back to books. I bought a ton of books in preparation for surgery, and I also had friends and family pass on books to me. I ended up with two copies of Unbroken and three copies of All the Light We Cannot See, both of which come highly recommended. I have yet to read either, but if you want either on (or both), please PM me and I'll mail them to you. It will give me incentive to get out of the house, and maybe go by the pharmacy and finally have my prescription for tamoxifen filled...

    Good evening ladies😊

BMX yesterday. I was supposed to go home today. BS wanted me to stay another day due to pain control. Oh my it's been rough! I have 4 drains.

Please advise how long before the really bad pain subsides? Trying to be strong but it's been a challenge. Praying for everyone facing their surgery & for those who have already had surgery.

    Damn, we women are warriors!!

Catherine, we are indeed warriors. I'm so sorry you're having this much pain. Everyone reacts differently; I felt okay the first 72 hours and only felt more pain when I decided to wean myself off the narcotics. Now, 8 days past, I'm pretty achy, but I don't want to go back on the hard stuff. Popping Tylenol Extra Strength and noticing that the pain comes and goes with the weather (it's pretty stormy here on and off).

I'm very much afraid that the drains also seem to collect more when it's storming. Maybe I'm wrong....

Anyway, if you're in enough pain that they want you to stay an extra night, it sounds like maybe that's not a bad idea. I hope you wake up tomorrow and feel a little better.

Yes, if I continue to go with the implants. cancelled that, decided to go with the tram flap instead. Until then, will go with prostheses.

Leslie, prayers for you! I think your surgery was today?

Catherine, sorry for your post surgical pain. Did you get a pain pump? Or just oral meds? Hope you get to go home tomorrow. I was told one night too.

I just got my Cooby bra in the mail. It looks super comfy and comes with insert able pads. Since I am getting a UMX hope it looks balanced. Has anyone tried this?

    39andHip,

I just finished All The Light You Cannot See. It's very good. It's not light reading though. Takes place during WWII. I recommend!

I am 16 days post ok and still sore. Looks good, not red, or infected looking. I am still swollen. How long does this take to stop being so sore?
