Scared!!!!

Hi ladies,

I had my annual mammo last Friday and it showed a suspicius mass. Did ultrasound after and had biopsy done today. The radiologist said it is Bi-raids 4. He said my breasts are very fibrocystic with lots of cysts and several fibroadnomas. But one spot looks different. I am so scared. I am 40 years old single mom of a five year old boy. He also said that mammogramm does not look good. I am terrified

    Hi Lena, and welcome. We're sorry for this changes in your breast that has brought you here, and we totally understand how worried you are. The waiting is truly one of the hardest parts. We don' t have much advice on how to get through it. Myabe trying to keep calm and keep yourself distracted by visiting with family/friends, or doing some exercise or other things you like will help. Hang in there, you're not alone. Please keep us posted on your biopsy results.

    Hi Lena, please take a breath. A birads 4 gives you and 80 percent chance of a benign finding. That's pretty high. Alot of women here have had a birads 4 and benign results. I hope they weigh in here for you. I don't know why the dr said it doesn't look good. If it was a birads 5 I could understand his skepticism. I think he was totally off base with that comment. Please let us know how you do. My thoughts are with you

    I am sorry that you found yourself here.

    Waiting for the biopsy results is really hard. Did they give any indication when they would be in? When I had my first one done, they suggested that I call my ob/gyn since the original mammogram and ultrasound order went through her to give her a heads up that the biopsy was done and to keep an eye out for the results.
