Great picture Jazzygirl - thanks for sharing!! Way better than what I could see last night.
Ruthbru - where in ND are you? For as close as we are, I've never been to ND. I grew up in SD
Heading out for a run now & then reformer pilates at 10:30.
Happy Monday everyone! Make it a great day!
-
Wow!! Great photo and what a clear sky, jazzy! My daughter told me it would be cloudy so I didn't bother to get up, but then a friend said it was a clear sky and she was able to take pictures at 4 am. Oh well.
Walked with DD yesterday and above friend this morning (photo taken in the park where we walk, with Henry Moore sculpture). Will try to catch Body Jam tonight.
-
Sorry, I'm behind again! Wonderland, I hope you had a great birthday :-)
Great pic, Jazzy! We had a great view of the eclipse from our backyard last night.
Badger, my most sincere condolences regarding the loss of your friend.
Angiel, I was born and raised in S.D. too. Welcome!
My friend and I have been doing every charity run we can find lately. Yesterday was Susan G. on the Milwaukee lakefront. It was an emotionally charged day being my first time participating as a survivor! Attached is a photo from a trail run we did last Sunday to benefit brain cancer research (the disease that took my mom from me). We also did an 8K for Childrens Hospital last Saturday. We have been lucking out with this gorgeous weather!
Today I did a trail run on my lunch hour. Heading to the gym later to do some cross-training. Happy Monday, all!

Phooey, somehow lost my last post.
6.25 mile bike ride today just around the neighborhood. There are 2 (for now) bike clubs here both offering 'A' group (20 mph), 'B' group (18-20 mph), 'C' group (13-17 mph) and 'Social' group (10-12 mph). They usually do 11 to 75+ mile rides. I'm told there is also an 'unofficial' 'D' group but they just meet at the rec center and ride to the nearest place serving breakfast (this would be the group ruthbru joins ). Once I get more confidence on my bike (read: able to ride straight without the occasional wobble!) I will join the social group for organized, longer, rides as I especially want to do some trail riding.
Later friends.

At the gym working off the haze from a dreary rainy day. Praying for good weather this weekend when I photograph the 10 mile BC walk.

3 years today since my BC diagnosis. No sad emotions for me really - it's just a date on the calendar and I'm just busy living my life (and enjoying my last few days off before going back to work - blech!)
Walked to post office this afternoon and back, about 45 minutes total.
-
Great picture, meljo.
Patoo, how did you guess that I would join the 'ride your bike to a restaurant' group?
Yea, sweet! Glad you are feeling so good.
I went to yoga this morning, cleaned house (bleah, I need to REALLY clean but am just skimming over the surface for now). Tonight I went to Zumba & then stayed for gentle flow yoga (which is so lovely that I do not even want to 'bring your mind back to your body' at the end!).
Now I have to study 'Numerical Expressions and Factors' because I'm teaching math on Thursday. Yikes!
-
Catching up after a busy weekend.
Meljo, participating in all those events is impressive! And for such great causes too!
Ruth, you can come clean my house when you get done with yours. I'll even feed you!
Sweet, keep enjoying the day!
This weekend was a fun filled weekend with plenty of walking. Went to a team building event Saturday at a local amusement park and walked over 5 & 1/2 miles. Walked another 3.5 miles on Sunday at a local home show. Tonight's exercise was bootcamp.
Happy Monday all!
-
Office lunch time yoga today. Had to skip the down dogs and a couple other moves since not back to full strength and cording means I can't completely straighten straighten my left arm. But still it was fabulous.
This week is pretty overwhelming so I'm grateful to have yoga again on Wednesday. Class schedule is all over because we get bumped from the room for other events. Goal is 4-6 classes per month and it is covered by employers. But sometimes we get a couple classes in the same week and none another week.
-
Hello all, Did about 40 minutes of brisk walking today along with a lot of steps doing home-related stuff.
To a good active week!
-
Jazzygirl, such a beautiful picture of the moon!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Sweet, Congratulations on your 3 year anniversary!!! Many more years are to come😃😃
Exercise today was shopping and sculpting, parking way out in the parking lot, twice and then jogging to each store! Climbed up 3 flights of stairs twice!!
You all keep me inspired!!!
-
Sign me up for the D group. I'd do A,B,C too if breakfast is involved!!!!
Beautiful blood moon. I totally forgot about it of course.
Cute pic of you and the badger meljo.
I'm reporting yesterday's walk of 41 minutes with my husband. I'm taking a rest day today.
-
Meljo, terrific photo and I love you jumping into all charity runs - WTG! We got up at 3:30am am to see the moon and it was worth it.
Shadowed #70 this morning...this is not a easy one, slowly I'm getting there.
-
Count me in for the D group as well!!! Such a beautiful moon picture Jazzy. Sweet so glad you are doing so well and
on 3 years. LB, I am absolutely in love with the song "Do you remember" on 70. Kathy I am going to be in your area on Saturday as I'm going to the 24 up there to do the new Body Combat release.
Sunday went to Body Pump and last night did Zumba, the neuroma on my foot is screaming I am doing everything to reduce the swelling as I want to dance again tonight.
-
hey Cheryl !!! 😀 Until what time? Rich and cook and serve a meal to HIV families until 2:00!! Darn, I hate to always miss you! Rich will be out of town the days of OCT 21-24 are you available on Wednesdays!
-
Hi All. Love reading all the posts. It's been raining on and off for days (mostly on) with more rain predicted. It's a good thing because we really need it. Finally had a break in the weather this evening so I was able to get out for my walk/run. This rain makes me want to stay inside and eat. Not good!
-
Got released to go back to work on Thursday but still have workout restrictions. Nothing more strenuous than walking yet. No lifting or running yet. Not looking forward to wearing real clothes again after a month of yoga pants and t-shirts 😝!
On, no exercise for me today.
-
Went to Cardio Sculpt this morning & to Barre tonight....wow, that is a crazy good workout.....you don't hardly move, and yet your legs are screaming.
-
9/29- 30 laps in the pool tonight, followed by a soak in the hot tub (aahhh....)
What is barre Ruthbru?
Sweetandspecial- good to hear you are coming along with your recovery and going back to work. I hope you are feeling better every day!
-
Barre is a combination of ballet-type exercises, yoga and pilates. The barre (either a ballet bar or just a chair back) is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements (I copied this last sentence from an online description). We also use light weights for some of the core work.
-
Kathy I may be in a carpool on Saturday, if not I can hang around Del Amo and we could have coffee after 2pm. Great news Sweet, pity you couldn't wait till Monday to go back. Enjoy the rain Wonderland.
Tonight did Body Pump followed by Zumba. To add to my collection, these are the guys who led our class tonight, not 1, not 2 but yes 3 cute instructors, the one in black with the cap is my regular instructor and he had a couple of his friends come teach with him
-
Congrats on returning to work Sweet. Nothing wrong with just walking. I'm still barely able to do arm weights and exercises after 9 weeks. Really have to get in the pool this winter and get my shoulders and arms used to swimming again. I was on a swim team and a water safety instructor in my prior life.
Yesterday was a loss. . .too much going on and way too sore after PT. Gym tonight. That should help. You are all inspiring me!

Those instructors look like fun hbCheryl!
I ran 4 miles. it was nice to get moving again...I had a week off letting a toe rest.
-
Invited 2 girlfriends over for a workout this morning....we did 20 minutes on the treadmill, 20 minutes on the Stairmaster and 20 minutes on the elliptical. Then some weights & stretches. Time flies when you can chat with friends and watch TV during the workout!
Cheryl, your instructors look like a riot!
-
nothing yesterday but a Cub Scout Pack meeting. It was raining so the drive there took twice as long as usual. I arrived with almost everything needed for the activity only 5 minutes before we started. I'm sure the stress alone worked off a few calories.
Today office yoga again. All restorative poses. Not much of a work out but I totally felt awesome after.
-
We walked the Country Club's golf course today, gorgeous!
-
S&S you are back on the beam -well done. Ruth like the barre workout and nice autumnal photo. Cheryl, like the goofs. Outrunning, I'll bet you feel great after yoga at work. Angiel, working out with friends does make it go faster.
Vi-box and body balance at the gym
-
9/30- hard to believe it is the end of September already, into October we go!
Short work out at the gym today (30 min of resistance training), as I am heading out of town for a family wedding. The gym was busy and machines and space not to be had easily today. Got my workout clothing packed for the trip, and will have a gym in the hotel going in and leaving, plus some walking clothes for the country area we are visiting for the weekend wedding fun. My sister is going with me and an exerciser too, and we will have each other for work out buddies to keep going. Oh and she is a bc survivor too!
Ruth-that class sounds interesting. My gym does not have a room with bars like you sometimes see at the yoga studies. I will have to keep an eye out for that type of class here. Sounds like I would like it!
Will rejoin the fun here, when I am back and settled next week! Keep up the good work ladies!
-
At the gym working out the pain and aches from yesterday's PT. My gym rat buddy Dh bought me a present, since the weights here start at 5-10 lbs. Now I have my own set of 2 lb BC weights. When I progress past these I'll just use them on hikes and stuff for more arm movement.
