Question about Breast Reconstruction
Hi,
My name is Sue. In August I was diagnosed with DCIS Nuclear Grade 2. SInce the involved left breast has multifocal sites and I am small breasted I am having a mastectomy done. I am doing the FLAP surgery and have a question. If doing a unlilateral mastectomy is it possible to do FLAP on both sides as to increase the breast size? I'm not sure if I'm posting at the right discussion board but I thought I would start here and figure my way around.

Microvascular flaps are used to correct mastectomy defects and I am guessing they can be used for enhancement also. This is a question you could post on Dr. DellaCroce's (a high volume microvascular ps) "Ask the Doctor" web site - see link below.
