Is anyone from Mississauga?
Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone is from Mississauga? My mom had her surgery and will have treatment out of Credit Valley Hospital. Surgeon was Dr. Niaz (he is amazing) and she will see Dr. Yeun for Radiation and we are still waiting to hear about her Chemo Oncologist. Anyone else in this area?

Hello Melanie, I am not from Mississauga but I am at CVH, CarloFidani.
I had Dr Moffat for surgery, Dr Fine is my MO and Dr Wang has been assigned as my RO.

Hi Molliefish! My mom just found out that she has Dr. Meyers for Chemo. Have you heard of him??
-
Yes he was the MO I saw Thursday because Dr Fine is away on Vacation.

Dr. Jeffrey Meyers is my MO and he is great! There are actually 2 Dr. Meyers, father and son. I have the son. He is really young but very on top of things with a great personal manner...I did my rads at CVH at the Carlo Fidani centre and the team was amazing. My RO was Dr. Lian but I met with Dr. Yuen for a second opinion and liked him very much. Best wishes to your Mom!

ah, the MO I saw must have been Sr. I'm sure he said his name was David and he's got more grey than I had before I was bald

So good to know that you are all in good hands. I don't think she will start her chemo until the end of October based on healing from her surgery which was September 11 but it will be good to get things moving along. I think CVH is amazing.
I am not sure if either of you have been to wellsprings but they are also such a great resource for support. My mom really likes it there and so do I.

Hi Mel I went to chinguacousy and had a tour but I seem to be ok without going back. They are good about keeping up with messages but not intrusive or pushy about joining. That's what I like. Knowing it's there. Best wishes to your Mom for a continued smooth recovery from surgery.

So my mom went today to CVH for her radiation consultation with Dr. Yuen. I went with her. We both really liked him and his nurse Ivy who will be her nurse and doctor for radiation. He made her feel so at ease with it all. She will have 25 treatments with him over the course of 5 weeks once her chemo is over. She also picked out a knitted hat from the donation basket at the registration area. It is such a nice idea.
Next week she will see the Medical Oncologist.

Ah, nice. I love the caps! I haven't picked one but I love them. I'm glad she's feeling more comfortable. How about you? How are YOU doing?
