one more chemo to go!
I haven't been posting much as the summer of chemo really did me in. 4 A/C and 4 Taxol. I had many infections but was lucky not to be hospitalized. I more chemo to go then a left mastectomy with hopes of reconstruction then radiation. I am a nurse and have been off work since the start of chemo. Not sure when I'll be back to it and even if I will be able to keep pace. I feel weak and unhealthy. This cancer diagnoses has certainly taught me to live one day at a time and appreciate that day. I worry less and let more things go. Its amazing how things have worked themselves out. I am a woman of faith and that has been my anchor, I don't have to fear. Thank you to all the woman who have go before with their wonderful stories of strength that have pulled me through. And to all those that follow, you are not alone, you are surrounded by a faithful army fight hard for you. One thing I would like to see, is a 24/7 chemo urgent care. A place where they know how to treat you and your symptoms. Mash units and ER's just sent me away. My MO only has m-f till 4pm hours no weekends. I had fevers always on the weekends. Just one more chemo to go.

Congrats. You are almost there. I completed my six months chemo on August 17. I have the same emotions and gratitude for people before me who post their experiences and make our walk easy through this path. God bless all of us.

Hang in there (((Kathy))) - I know what the "home stretch" feels like, I had the same chemo regime that you had! My last dose of Taxol was Dec. 26th 2012 - it took a good 6 months for me to get my energy and sense of taste back...and... some fuzzy hair on my head:) We're all different but what I can tell you is that I found my "new normal" and have been able to get past the side effects so I can enjoy life. I am also a nurse so I know what a tough job it can be - physically and emotionally...I hope your last treatment goes without problem so you can start to recover and heal, we're here for you, take care, (((Hugs))) Maureen

Awesome Kathleen!
You've made it through the toughest part. You'll start feeling better pretty soon after your last Taxol! Best to you on the upcoming surgeries.

kathy2015...you've done the hardest part I feel. Radiation was not as hard on me! Sounds like you have a handle on the fear..I too am a woman of faith, but did/do struggle with the fear from time to time. Its less about death and more about leaving my family! But, we fought the good fight with our treatments, make the best life style decisions after for remission and trust in God's mercy and grace! You'll love the feel of the fuzzy hair and slowly you'll feel more and more like you again...so proud of you and praying this last chemo is easier!! Thanks for sharing!

Congratulations to you on finishing chemo! I had my last Taxol on Sept 4 and surgery on Sept 22. So I'm nearly two months PFC and finally feeling like me again (especially the parts of me that digest food!), and I have a cap of fuzz on my head. Also brows and just the start of eyelashes. And, sigh, I'm shaving my legs again, though only about once a week. Starting rads soon, but so glad to be done with Taxol and surgery. I hope that timetable helps.
