awesome! You should look fabulous right away!
-
uggggh I'm getting nervous about surgery Monday
-
Hang in there steph!
-
Steph, lots of good wishes for surgery. You have been such an amazing person to get through what you have.
-
keep us posted on how everything goes Steph!!
-
Hey steph what time is your surgery? I'm getting a helping as well, but just a little one. PM me if you want, maybe we can text eachother jokes to stay calm lol
-
Healthy coping strategies today: packed up all wigs and wig stuff for donation. Listened to the jig "banish misfortune" burned incense. Excercised. Cooked. Picked tomatoes. Feeling much more positive after adding ativan to all that!
Kbeee, if I may ask, what did you wear to the wedding? I've got one coming up and I'm not sure how to dress my miserably radiated crew cut self...
Oh yeah. For those of you with chemo fur face, how did you shave it? Any special razors or shave cream or......I dunno...just tips I guess..
-
chin up steph. And relax. It will be all good
-
Jen, do you have an eyebrow shaper? It's like a flat edged razor stick..thing. Anyway, works great on all this facial fuzz. Facial fuzz gets to keep growing and regrowing. More important hair?...that gets banished.
Steph, we will be right there with you this week. I know I am already so nervous about BMX in October...I can't yet imagine how nervous I will be when it's days away. Part of me is glad I have had some much time to mentally prepare...part of me is overwhelmed by so much 'mental preparation' and I just want it over. We got through Chemo, we can and will get through this too! Especially with all the support here.
5 days PFC!!!! Have waited a long time to use that acronym!!!
This last round has been really hard. Mouth is usually okay for 2-3 days, but was horrendous nearly from the start. Hands and feet...Neuropathy usually stared around day 7. This time, it was already bad on day 3. I have also had way more weakness and fatigue...I slept or laid around in Chemo fog from Wednesday until nearly today. I managed to take a long Epsom salt bath this morning in an attempt to detox some of the chemo sludge. My muscles are so tight and weak...I am having a hard time imagining functioning normally. I haven't taken the gabapentin for the p.n. yet...after I got freaked out by reading about the side effects. I will reassess depending on how bad the neuropathy pain gets. Soooo glad there isn't any more chemo to come. I honestly could not handle anymore. 15 days until we meet with p.s. and have to decide on reconstruction surgery (skin sparing, implant vs tissue, or NONE). 18 days until my ear surgery...it was easy to decide about reconstruction for my ear. NORMALish NON-ELF EAR PLEASE!!! I have no hair to hide it. BMX could be one month from Monday. I so wish I was on the other side of all this. I can't take all the waiting anymore! Everyone thinks I've got all the time in the world to relax and 'heal'. I don't think that can happen until I am on the other side of ALL the hurdles.
-
Dizz park, Hoping those hideous side effects end soon. I agree that this such a long road. It is overwhelming at times.
Jen, I will post a picture on Facebook tomorrow. I wore s dress I got on clearance at Kohls. I had a sweater I already had that I wore over it. I went for comfort . I have a bunch of weddings this fall.
-
Steph, hang in there. Deep breaths. All is going to go well. Keep us posted. We are all here for you.
Dizzpark just remember each day will get better. The fog will lift and that is the best. Some symptoms hang on for awhile. I still have neoropathy in my feet 7 weeks post. Take it a day at a time. No expectations.
Kbeee hope the wedding was great! How did it feel to go commando? I so want more hair!!!
-
thank you to all you wonderful ladies
littleblue I am due to be there at 7am ugh! So I have to be up by 5am they are gonna do the dye for SNB I don't really know what to expect with that I heard it hurts actual surgery is at 1130 I will definitely pm you try to keep our minds busy! -
the wedding went fine. I really do not have enough hair to go commando, but did anyway. I am uncomfortable from rads and did not want an itchy head on top of it. The only bad part was that Whenbthd bride walked down the aisle, I pictured my girls and immediately my thoughts went to whether or not I would be alive to see their wedding and my eyes welled up. Uuugh
-
Big giant hugs (on your non radiated side) kbeeee
-
actually the dye for the SNB didn't hurt me. If felt like getting a TB shot- if you've everhad one of those. And be prepared you will pee blue for about 2 days and it doesn't smell pretty either.
-
haha thanks for info Addie yes I have had tb shots shouldn't be a big deal I guess what I'm most worried about is surgery showing tumor is worse than we thought I like living in my little world believing chemo killed it all but we shall see!
-
good luck STEPH. It's cake compared to what you have been through.
-
I know in
-
chemo DID kill all of that nasty cancer. Think positive thoughts.
-
Good luck tomorrow Steph.....We're with you!! It'll be such a relief to have this behind you!!
Glad the fog is starting to lift DizzPark....hope every day brings new strength!!
I'm not feeling great this weekend, sinus headache, body aches and pains, sooo tired... the usual weekend stuff. I had to take the dog to the vet on Friday and went commando. I felt so crappy that I totally didn't give a rip who I saw...of course I ran into a former co-worker. lol
-
Argh! Just lost my post right before I hit send. Here it goes again!
My appointment went well. Thanks for asking. Not sure how confident to feel since no bloodwork or scans. My MO is taking me off tamoxifen for 2 weeks to see if it helps with foot and joint pain and swelling. Also doubling my diuretic. I will start back up on tamoxifen in two weeks, but spilt the dose between morning and night. Hope this will help with SE. Hard to know what is residual taxotere SE, Zolodex or tamoxifen!
-
I second that Addie! RIP cancer. I take its scalp then spit on its vile little grave. Then I jump up and down on it and sow the ground with salt, pour gasoline on it, and watch that shit burn to the ground. Wait....was that a little too agro? 😈
-
Oh yeah. Then I nuke it's whole planet with a photon canon. Hey, points for honesty, right???
-
Then push its planet into a black hole.
-
And follow it into the 4th dimension, where even it's electrons cease to exist. Yup. I'm scared spit less of getting my unidentified scar lump removed tomorrow, or more properly the pathology to come. This is my version of the war dance befor hand. I hope no one is offended..the sentiments are real!
-
Port coming out tomorrow morning. Getting a little nervous for some reason though I know this is easy peasy compared to everything else so far. Started Femara Tuesday, so far so good.
-
littleblue bash it with a baseball bat, jump up and down on it yelling obscenities, whatever it takes to get that bitch gone! Go Office Space on it, it's good to be a gangsta
Best of luck tomorrow, will be thinking about you!
-
The beat down. For my sisters. Especially for Italy for suguesting it! Just imagine the printer is cancer!
-
Don't be scared kniterly. Are you having it out in the office or a surgery? I was super scared too but it was fast and painless!
-
Little Blue
Thinking of you
Good luck steph
That cancer's dead
