The answer wasn't what I wanted to hear, but oddly it's still way better than not knowing. Had my excisional biopsy Monday and all I know thus far is DCIS. The surgeon called just to check on me and the path report came through while we were on the phone. He clearly wasn't prepared for that part of the conversation. I know my PCP will call later and I can ask him all my questions about what the full report says. Eventually, it will be up in my account so I can read it for myself. In the meantime, I will patiently (haha) wait for my post op appointment on Wednesday where the surgeon and I will discuss all my options moving forward. As for recovery...Frankenboob is healing nicely and my brain cells are still asleep. I never wanted to be on this side of the forum, but I'm thankful beyond belief that it's early stage.

    We're so sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but really glad you have found our amazing Community! You're right -- having the knowledge about your diagnosis is power, and you'll only be gaining more knowledge and power from the other members here as you stay and post.

    Glad you are healing well. I felt a lot better after meeting with the surgeon. There is a steep learning curve at first, but you will find a lot resources and support here.
