hair regrowing during Taxotere/cytoxin treatment
Is this possible? My hair started falling out in handfuls 14 days after my first out of four treatments, I couldn't take it anymore and had my hairdresser give me a 1/2 inch crewcut, but never really shaved it. About 80% of my hair fell out but I still have enough hair scattered around that it comforts me a little not to feel totally bald. Now this hair appears to be growing and is about an inch long now. I was sure it would fall out this week but it's now 16 days after my 2nd treatment, and it is hanging in there. Is it possible for some of your hair to never fall out and actually to grow during treatment, or should I prepare for this to fall out as well? Also, I almost think there is some peach fuzz coming up where it did fall out, is this possible and shouldn't further treatments kill that as well? I thought I would be 100% bald and don't know if this is too much to hope for. I still look pretty bald but the hair I have cheers me up a bit. Please tell me if I should not get too attached.

I lost most of my hair, but still had some that stayed and grew through 4 treatments of TC. I too had it cut very short when it first fell out.

I never went completely bald. There was actually still enough that I shampooed it every other day. And it did grow - at one time towards the end of treatment I looked like a little fuzzy monkey. But I think that hair eventually fell out after my new hair started growing back in.
It is somewhat comforting to not be completely bald!

same here; I even made a "bangs" band out of hair that I had cut off, to wear under scarves; it's hard to let go of it, for sure. I think I looked like a molting parrot at one time, but was just happy to have a few sprigs left! LOL

all of mine didn't fall out either, but half of my head is bald, so going without a hat or scarf isn't an option I'm afraid.

had tchp and never went completely bald after 6 treatments growing pretty good now 1.5 months out wish my eyebrows would stop thinning though!

Oh good. I'm rooting for the rest to hang in there then. Definitely can't go without a head covering, but it's nice to feel the wisps moving from the ceiling fan. Reminds me of my long hair blowing in the breeze. It's the little things.
