Tugging and pulling from the port?

Hi all,

I'm about 12 days past the port placement, and I still feel a significant discomfort with pulling from it. The port itself is extremely tender, but I'm expecting that to take time. The part that's strange is that I can't swallow without feeling a significant 'pinch' deep inside my neck, and it's really distracting.

Is this something that will pass, or something I need to make peace with??

    I have had mine for about 7 weeks and I still feel that tugging you mention, but it is way less distracting than it used to be. The soreness went away after about three weeks. The only thing that bothers me now is when I sleep sometimes I kind of hunch up in a ball and the port is just some weird foreign object I can feel, that is annoying. So, I guess what I am saying, you will get used to it. Mostly ;)

    LOL, Thanks, Notdoneyet! I hope it gets to the point that it isn't bothering me so much. I'm going in for my two-week check right now and going to ask if it should be still causing actual pain (beyond discomfort) at the site. I had to ice it again the other night.
