Having a scan? Waiting on results? The waiting room is open!

RonnieKay, you are always so sweet. Hugs back to you everyday!

We're in the waiting room again. My mom had a CT in March and MRI in May because of pain in the lower back, hips, and groin, which is where she has the most mets damage. Both showed she was still stable but the pain still comes and goes and is increasing, so she had an MRI to the lumbar spine and another to the SI joint last week to see what's up. Not sure why she wasn't sent for the usual full body scan, but hoping that's good news and that perhaps the onc doesn't feel it's progression. Anyway, results on Friday so here we are waiting again.
Fingers crossed!
Wishing all in the waiting room an easy wait and great results
-
((((HUGS)))) txmom! Hope you get great results!!
-
Karen-I'll be thinking of you! Waiting is the worst!
-
Omg I'm still in the waiting room. Starving. I want a cheeseburger.
-
I've gotten a little behind, been busy making the best of what is left of summer.
Goodie16, congrats on the good news, that is awesome!
CarlaK, good to hear all results are good so far but praying they can get to the bottom of your weight loss.
Terrij152, can't imagine dealing with epilepsy, that had to be so scary for you but glad that it's not an issue for you today.
RonnieKay, like txmom said you are always so sweet, thanks for your nice comment, I always love reading your posts. So sorry to hear about you having to deal with head lice, I hope you've gotten rid of those critters, not a nice thing to deal with. My niece got them from a student in her classroom and it really freeked her out.
Bosco, hope the transfusion helped you and it sounds like your son is a keeper, love chocolate chip cookies.
Caryn, I will be with you in spirit on Saturday and praying for continued NED!
Goldengirls, any results for your mom? Praying all is still stable.
txmom, sending you a cheeseburger 🍔. Any results?
Hugs to all, Annie

Just home from my PET. The tech said, "Aren't you the lady who had the pneumothorax a few years ago? We've changed our training and caught a few others because of you." I'm a legend and at least some good came out of it 😁.
Waiting for results is the tough part for me. Babysitting my granddaughter tonight should take my mind off of it
-
Annie - We got the results and it looks like she is still stable, but there was hyperintensity that could indicate a pathological fracture in the upper right sacrum. They recommend a CT scan to confirm, which she will have in 3 weeks. It would definitely explain the pain she's been having. Not sure what they will do to treat a fracture in the sacrum -- she forgot to ask. (I would have asked her onc but she made me wait in the waiting room because I ask too many questions. lol)
Glad you're making the best of summer!
Caryn - Enjoy your day with your granddaughter! Wishing you many more years of NED
-
I LOVE MY ONCOLOGIST!!! Yes, I'm shouting because I have never had to wait more than 24 hours for scan results. I am happy to report that I remain NED. This will be a very joyous Rosh Hasanah.
-
Happy dancing for you Caryn! Wonderful news!
-
Great news, exbrnx!!! So much to celebrate :-)
Still waiting on a few scans....w/hope & prayers!!!
Golden...you know this is a strange journey when I say woohoo...just a fracture...ugh.
-
Goldengirls, yay to your mom still being stable. Prayers that it is not a fracture in her sacrum but if it is that something can be done to relieve her pain.
Caryn, wow awesome news! I'd be shouting from the rooftops! So happy for you, have a joyous Rosh Hasanah.
Prayers for everyone else waiting.
Hugs, Annie
-

Caryn, Congratulations for the great news. WOOHOO! I am doing the happy dance for you.

-
Ronnie Kay-hope your scans are a HUGE success!
-
Caryn, congratulations and Happy New Year! Mazel Tov!

Caryn, YAY! Annie and Terri, I did get my scans back. My hip is healing and showing regression and regeneration, my breast tumor went from 2.7 to 2.3 and my 2 lymphnodes are stable. So no progression, some regression, and stable. It's good. I'll take it. I have 3 more THP treatments before next scans. Annie, did you get your scans? Praying for all of us. Hope you have a great day! XO
-
Great news, Caryn! Woo!
RonnieKay - thinking of you as you wait for results. Sending positive thoughts. :-)
-
Good news on scans ladies. I have my PET this Wed at UCDAVIS.
Terri

Caryn! Yay! THE BEST news (along with that new grandbaby:)
RonnieK… wishing you great scan results.
And Terri, always thinking of you and sending you my very best wishes for your upcoming PET.
Love to all…
Rose.

Hi. I don't post on here much though I am a frequent visitor but I've just realised that I recognise so many of you now but because I am silent no one knows me! So I'm joining in and will try to be more involved!
I had my 3 monthly scan last Wednesday and get my results on Thursday. And I'm just now starting to get a few scanxiety flutters. So I guess im in the waiting room with all you guys!
Up to now its staying in my bones so of course I'm hoping for no progression. I've been on eribulin but if I continue to stay stable I'm hoping to go back onto capcetibine/xeloda. It's so much easier and less invasive and far fewer trips to the hospital.
So that's where I'm upto and I look forward to 'meeting' you all in the days ahead!
Sue xx

txmom, I like the sounds of your results, sounds like things are headed in the right direction! Praying your next 3 treatments does the trick in kicking the cancer to the curb. Yes I did get my scans, on August 6th, results showed all my mets healing and organs clear, praying for it to stay that way for a very long time.
Terri, I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday. Prayers for good results, sending positive energy and healing hugs.
sparklysue, glad you joined in and we're all here for you. Praying for good results on Thursday, please check back in and let us know. Hoping for no progression right along with you and some regression too.
Hugs to all, Annie

Hi! I just had a CT scan this afternoon and I'm not sure when I'll get my results. It was supposed to be scheduled so I could get my results at my yearly surgeon follow-up, but that was last Thursday, so i guess that isn't happening. I don't have an appointment with my oncologist until the first of December. Hopefully I can try to convince one of the nurses to give me the results over the phone...
I was diagnosed stage IV at the get-go (a year ago), and I've had no progression since. Between the first and the second, they thought there might have been some regression, but that depends on what spots I actually had...it seems there was some question about that. I definitely had three spots on my bones, one rib, one thorasic and a really chewed up lumbar which I had stabilized. The spine surgeon went through the last scan and said there were signs of "fusion". I wonder if that means healing?
Anyway, like most of us, I freak out waiting for a scan and then waiting for the results, so I'm taking a chair in the waiting room and hoping the company will make the wait a bit easier.
-
Hugs to everyone waiting on their results. I'll be having my tumor markers checked next week, hopefully they're the same or lower than the last time.
-
Tx...that sounds wonderful...stable & regression, you bet we'll take it & hoping for more of the same after your last set of round of treatments!
I'm sorry my post was confusing...I meant I was waiting to hear others' scan results. Mine were stable Aug 7th...woohoo...but it's funny how quickly my mind starts fishing around for problems so soon afterwards. This darn merry-go-round...which is such a stupid name for something that always made me feel like throwing up...LOL!
Welcome & hang tight to new sisters here! If you had a support system before...it just got a big boost :-)
-
Milaandra, I certainly hope someone gives you your results before December 1st. That's great that you've had no progression and even some regression. Hoping your CT scan results show that all is well. I would think fusion means the procedure worked and that area is healing.
Terrij152, sending positive thoughts that your tm's are lower!
RonnieKay, lol on the merry-go-round comment, so true, always made me feel like throwing up too.
Hugs to all, Annie

Ladies,
So many of us, so much happening and my pea brain (I love my first graders, but my brain is fried. I DO sleep well.) Congrats to those with good results and fingers crossed for those on deck.

Am I allowed to throw a pity party while waiting? I've had a rough few weeks, and now the eternal waiting.
I had a cold a few weeks ago, and it left me with a cough that just won't go. Antibiotics did nothing, so my doc wants X-rays "just in case".
I have been having pain in my leg and knees (particularly the left one) which might be arthritis, side effects of Tamoxifen, old age and overweight, or it might be the tumor in my leg saying hello. And sometimes my whole left thigh aches so I can hardly walk.
My arm (on the mastectomy side) has felt weird since surgery. I put it down to nerve damage from the butcher - oops I mean surgeon - who took my boob and 24 lymph nodes. But last week my physio put a tape measure around my arm, and now I am in a compression sleeve for lymphodema.
I had my regular 3 monthly visit with my oncologist (the one who looks about 20 - and no, not cute) and he sent me for urgent x-rays on leg and lungs. I should get the x-ray results on Monday, and hopefully scans as well.
Until the last few weeks I thought I was doing really well - back to work full time, living an almost "normal" life, then everything packed in all at once. My shrink tried to teach me mindfulness, but it's not working.
My arm aches, my scar aches, my leg aches, my knees click when I move, my contract job finished today, so I'm pretty much unemployed, and i just want to crawl into bed and pull the blankets over my head until it's time to get the scans.
-
Suems, I'm sorry. It's OK to throw yourself a pity party, just don't stay too long. I'll be thinking and praying for you. Let us know when you get your scan results. Hugs
