Can't get there by truck. Can't take a train. Had to catch a ride, on Bev's sailing machine.
There we go. A true country song.

going into my fifth week and fatigue has kicked in a lot. Trying to just get extra sleep but have been feeling like sleeping at 3 pm and I am still at work
-
Nancdancer, the fatigue sucks, rest up when you can
I'm at 21/33 today. Yesterday had a re-scan in the simulator for the boosts. I was initially told it would probably be 28 whole breast with 5 boosts, but yesterday the tech told me he had me for 25 whole breast with 8 boosts. My MIL said it was the boosts that really set the fatigue in, and she had 5....so I'm kind of nervous that I'll start really getting tired quicker. Also, not sure how the breast will end up, especially underneath, where the tumor was

New word for the day! Desquamation. As in, my rad Techs have begun to induce desquamation. Ugh. A whole new lexicon of horrors..
-
Great, another set of words I need to learn how to pronounce. Last year it was foraminal. My sympathy, LittleBlue.
-
I got to throw "moist desquamation" into my PT appointment today:
PT: "Just a little exudate."
Me: "Oh, no, I don't have moist desquamation--that's emu oil."
-
little blue, are you peeling already???!!! I am pink and look like I have been in the sun overexposing certain parts, but I am just pink and not peeling yet. i have had 10. 1/3 done. The easy third. Hoping this dang sore throat does not get worse
-
I'm done with my rads (10 sessions to the upper spine) and the after effects ase a sore throat which magic wash doesn't begin to touch and outside my throat is burning. If anyone has any ideas how to treat I'm all ears.

Kbeee- just a little in my scar line so far. I think I'm a few days ahead of you though? More internal pains. For sore throat I've been drinking and gargling with a mix of honey, warm water, and coconut oil. It's worked a little. We shall see as the story unfolds...
-
I've had some shooting internal pains at scar line, but just "sunburn" feeling in a few areas other than that.
For my sore throat, I just am eating soft goods, oatmeal, applesauce, cottage cheese, you hurt, and am chomping and swallowing ice constantly
-
After AC even the word ice makes me ill...
-
That last one should have said yogurt instead of you hurt...interesting autocorrect! I am lucky I guess that I can still chomp ice. I am gathering smoothie recipes this weekend and will try a few out. I know they will NOT be happy if I lose more weight.
-
i had 13/30 today. So glad it's Friday because I'm so sore and tired. Looking forward to having the weekend off. Used my burn gel twice today and have no energy. Next week I'll be half way through, something to look forward to.
I got a new bra last Saturday, it's made with x-static fabric. It felt so comfortable until the last couple of days. Guess I'll look for something new this weekend or see if I can get one size larger.
-
19 down 9 to go. I'm getting there.
meezers..I can't wear anything for more than an hour or two before it gets uncomfortable. For a while I was switching up between sizes and styles. Anything was good for a day or two. Then I'd change. This past week I've developed a new technique. Once I get to work and get my morning stuff done, I slip into the restroom, remove my bra and put on an undershirt under my blouse. Fortunately they really run the AC high where I work, so I'm normally wearing a sweater anyway. So I just work like that the rest of the day and no one is the wiser. I change back into my bra before I leave work. I think at this stage that nothing is comfortable for too long. If you feel something, don't suck it up and get through it. Change it. Protect your skin. If you let something rub until it breaks the skin, then you'll really be miserable.
Well I've rambled long enough. That's my take on it. With 9 to go, I'll see how it plays out. Maybe my luck (and skin) will hold out (knock on wood).
-
Thanks Keys-Plez! I totally agree it's not worth sucking it up and suffering more. I think I'll wear a tank top instead of a bra at work this week. It's pretty cold at work in the morning and I usually wear a fleece jacket. It's just to painful to wear a bra now. I put a tank top under my bra today.
-
I am not too uncomfortable yet, other than a couple small sore areas. I guess if there's one silver lining to have already have gone through reconstruction, it's that I do not need a bra. That is helping to keep me more comfortable
