My Sister's Getting Married and I Am Missing My Mom So Much

    My mom was a brave warrior on this site who went by LuvRVing. She had 3 bc diagnoses in 4 years, triple negative, high oncotype, stage 1 to stage 3b to stage 4 with supposed remission for a few months in between, and lost the battle 2 years ago in November. My sister just got engaged yesterday and I can't stop crying because my mom is missing it and because my sister needs her mother to be at her wedding and I need her. And, because the universe apparently hates me, I have a lump in my breast for which I am going in for diagnostic mammo and ultrasound tomorrow. I know they're going to say it's just a cyst, but it's total bullshit right now. I want to be happy for my sister without bursting into tears every time I think about my mom missing out.

    LovinMyMom, I am so sorry for your pain.

    Your mother was a valued member here, and a dear friend to me. I,too, am so sad she is missing this wonderful time with your sister.

    Cry when you need to, take whatever steps you need for your health, and then rejoice with your sister.

    Hi,
    I remember your mom very well. She was a well loved member. I know it must be painful to move through life's special moments (and even the everyday) without her. I'm glad that you can come here to let your feelings out.
    I am not particularly religious and have many unanswered questions about what happens when we pass, but I know your mom will be with you on your sister's wedding day.
    As for you, yes bc and it's legacy suck. Pursue the medical path until you find an answer, but remember, the odds are really in your favor (that's why the legacy sucks as it makes you go to dark places).
