Hi Everyone
Hi Girls (and Guys),
I'm coming up on 6 years now since my diagnosis in September, and surgery in November of '09. I don't post as often as I used to but to pop in from time to time to see how everyone is doing.
The road has been bumpy again for me lately. Physically having issues and not sure if any of it's BC related or just aging (53) stuff. Going to have a D&C 9/18 to hopefully clear up whatever is growing/causing pain there (as well as lower back pain)---hopefully just fibroids. No bleeding. BC kicked me in to menopause so in theory fibroids should be shrinking, not growing at this point. They've never been able to get a good biopsy of my uterus as it's inverted. US has shown thickening of the uterine lining as well as the "growths". And yes, I've been on Tamoxifen. I also have a lump at the top of my spine and clear ear fluid at night. So as you can imagine I've been worried. That and seeing 2 ladies disease in it's final stages, makes me so sad and scared.
Thanks for listening gang, and wishing you all health and happiness!
Sharon

In your pocket, Sharon. Sorry for this new worry. Witnessing this wretched disease in its final stages, I bet you're sad and scared...I'm reaching through the airwaves and giving you some gentle hugs.

Hi Sharon, sorry for the " bumps" in the road, that you're negotiating now. It's so normal to feel scared when when we feel the other shoe may be dropping...
The back pain could be related to your inverted girl parts, and I know personally my endometrial thickening was from Tamoxifen. (long story why I was put on it)
Anyway, I just wanted to tell you. It is entirely probable that all is not related to BC. Don't climb up the crazy tree!

Thanks again girls. Just got back from my onc visit. She believes the big lump is a lipoma (had them in other areas before) and for me to go see a general surgeon about having it removed because of the placement and size. Def is causing me pain, perhaps pressing on a nerve.
On a separate note she said she didn't think the D&C was necessary. She said SHE has never seen a case of uterine cancer without bleeding (which I'm not) but it could be endrometriosis. Either way it feels like a period that just won't start and really uncomfortable/painful. Reassuring she doesn't believe it's UC, but of course I'm sure there's been cases w/out bleeding. Just she's never seen one. Anyone care to pipe in on that subject?
As for the fluid from my ears she said to see an ENT. SOOO looks like more appointments, but hopefully all not cancer related!
Sheesh, the fun never ends, but I am thankful for a positive visit and will try to stay off that "crazy tree" as you so perfectly put it Linda.

YAY! I didn't think your symptoms sounded related to BC recurrence, but I'm thrilled to hear your onc doesn't think so either.
A couple of years ago I closed the hatchback on my Prius pretty hard onto my head, and saw stars. Later, I felt a sore lump on my scalp and immediately thought "it's breast cancer..." It's easy to climb up that crazy tree, for sure!

HAPPY FOR YOU!!!

I was just wondering...I know a Sharon who lives in Olney and is 53. Are you married to Marty with 2 grown kids?

I love that we sisters can share the dark side of this journey and know we'll be held up by each other...love we can then come back and share the joy and celebrate together! Hi again girls,
Wow, it's so nice to see some of my "old" friends here, and meet some new ones. Ash, thanks for the kind words and glad you popped on board. You are in the right place! These ladies have been there for me through thick and thin. Anything you need to know, someone here has probably experienced it. I'd be happy to talk to you on a PM if you'd like, or post away. Trust me nothing is off limits (constipation included) !

Hi Sharon, it's good to hear from you. I hope they are able to get to the bottom of your uterine pain. My ob/gyn just harps on watching for the bleeding, but I understand that it can be the most minor of spotting in some cases. I'd stay on her about it.
