Amoena tops / insurance ??

Has anyone had any luck in getting their insurance to pay for a cami-top like the Amoena shirt? I'm feeling a little bummed because I finally discovered the Amoena top, and if I had my druthers would have 5 of them in different colors with the protheses I have and never wear a bra again, but Blue Cross doesn't reimburse for anything other than bras and prostheses. Just curious if anyone has insurance that will pay for these.

Lojo, my insurer does pay for them if I purchase them through the 'appearance center' at the breast health center at one of their associated facilities. The fitter does the paperwork for the insurer on site and sends it in. I get an EOB (explanation of benefits) form showing that it's been paid. I think they cover a limited number per year. I basically hate our insurer but they do cover this, at least. I don't know if they would if I were purchasing directly through Amoena or another retail source, however

You may want to ask your breast surgeon or other health care provider if they would write an RX for you or have any other recommendations for getting your purchase covered.

    Good luck!

    http://www.amazon.com/Amoena-Womens-Valletta-Camis...

    See if that works.

It is a very high quality soft cotton. I have a black one and a white one, and wear them all the time for 6 years now, at least several times a week. I sleep in them, in the winter I layer them under shirts. I just noticed some pilling on one the other day. Time for some new ones!!
