I had a lump in my right breast last year. Had a mammogram and an ultrasound, they found nothing. 8months later i'm having pain in my left breast and breast feels thicker. get a diagnostic mammogram and an ultrasound. They said I had clusters of cysts. and they are benign. But my breast hurt and it's not just during my cycle. I'm afraid that maybe they missed something. or am I supposed to be in pain because it's cyst they said it was nothing they could do. I had am MRI a few months ago for something unrelated, but I was wondering if there was something wrong would the MRI have picked it up? Am I being Paranoid? I'm 35 and I know my insurance is not going to allow me to have anymore test. We had a hard time getting the diagnostic mammogram approved. But my breast really hurt I would like another opinion

Hi,I am sorry to hear you are having such pain. I think your doctor has been doing all the routine tests. I know those little buggers hurt like heck because I have had clusters removed. Can you ask your doctor to remove them and share your insurance concerns? Generally, they will leave benign cysts alone. My breast surgeon only removed mine when I wouldn't stop calling her to complain about them. ]My breast surgeon requested that I take evening primrose and cut way back on caffeine, but I didn't notice any change.I hope you are able to get a another opinion.

Good luck! Cyst can be super painful. I've had a cluster of small ones in my left breast since I was 12. It's really annoying. I hope you can figure out a way to manage or eliminate your pain.

i know exactly what you mean by the pain from cysts. I have lots of them. It is possible to have the fluid drained from particularly painful ones in a surgeons office. There is some chance it could fill again. The two I had drained did not refill. I srcond the eliminating caffeine - I think it helps.

Hey! I'm kind of glad you came on here to discuss your cluster. DOn't get me wrong. I don't WANT you to be in pain. BUt I'm having a six month follow up mammo/sono after a bi-rads MRI of 3, with a description of my mass being likely fibrocystic tissue. The sonogram showed some cysts, the mammogram showed a mass that the radiologist could not explain.

Mine are only starting to hurt lately. After my breasts really swelled in August and were tender on both sides, the left where the mass is, has experienced intermittent pain and now, over the last two weeks, almost daily. I should have mentioned it to my doctor sooner but I wanted to give it time to see if the pain subsided. Also I've been a cyberchondriac of sorts over the last several years, and got tired of worrying all the time. Not that cancer risk is anything to mess with.

Some people here on other threads will say their pain was cancer, and not to rest until you know. There's something to that but at the same time, some lovely people messaged me and reminded me that those who have the outlier and unfortunate situations will be the most outspoken. That does NOT in any way lessen their diagnosis and I wish all BC patients survival and a great life! I'm just saying, take it easy. Don't get too scared. You are likely fine.

My follow up is tomorrow. I'm anxious but also eager to get this done and speak to people, and to get results.

    Best to you!
