Hi,

Is there a place to read details about ACT (Adriamycin, Cytoxan, and Taxol)? Pretty sure this will be my regimen even though my stage was upped from IIa to IIb/IIIA because size of tumor was 7 cm instead of 4 cm and microscopic amounts of cancer cells were found in SN 1 when we thought all nodes were clear on physical exam.

Thanks!

Artista- AC +T is very common and up to date chemo regimen.

Usually you will get the AC part only every 2-3 weeks (dose dense is every 2 weeks) and after that the taxol on some kind of a similar schedule. I think some get it weekly, others less often

Here is a link where you can read about each individual chemo agent.

    http://www.breastcancer.org/treatment/chemotherapy...

I would advise skulking around in some of the monthly chemo groups and read about what the women on those regimens are talking about.

Then when you know when you are starting, it would be very helpful to join a group for those starting the same month you do. It was very helpful to me, and I learned many tricks to managing SEs that I didn't hear from my doctor, plus it's a good place to share.....and vent....

    Good luck.

    Katy gave great advice.

That is the treatment plan I'm on. I had AC every two weeks for 4 sessions and just had my first Taxol session on Monday. I'll get Taxol every 2 weeks.

Everyone is going to be different in their experiences with each drug. I had little to no side effects with AC but I did have an issue with infections. I ended up getting 2 different infections during my A/C treatment. I'm hoping for the same with Taxol but yesterday I felt almost like I was getting the flu...just kinda blah. Today I'm feeling good though.
