Does anyone have twinges in their breasts? I have noticed this for a few months now. I was wondering if this is related to breast cancer. I was just diagnosed with IDC (1.2 cm) last Thursday. I am scared to death, and everything is magnified right now.

Totally normal to be feeling twinges in your breast.....whether they are related to the Cancer is irrelevant. As you said, everything is magnified right now. Once you get your treatment plan you will feel better, I promise. In the mean time, take one day at a time, one hour at a time if you have to. Breathe and don't hesitate to ask for anti-anxiety meds.

    Good luck!

Do twinges mean it is spreading? I feel like my breasts are sore now that I know one of them has a small mass. I am so worried. I feel fine otherwise. I feel like I would be tired and have other symptoms if it had spread???

I can only relate my personal experience but until I had my surgery, I had all sorts of aches, twinges and sharp pains that felt like cancer was spreading. Once it was gone, and a treatment plan was in place they miraculously disappeared. I realized afterwards what stress can do to us. I know easier said then done but try not to think about this so much. As Jen pointed out, take it one hour at a time if it helps you get by for now.

No, it doesn't mean it is spreading.

Though you can't tell youself if it is spreading, you need scans for that, BUT, twinges in your breast are not a sign of spreading. My breasts didn't hurt until I knew there was cancer in them. The mind is a funny thing.

I'm sorry you have to do this. Stick around here, there are a lot of comforting people here.

I'm getting the same thing in my remaining breast. I wonder if I've always had these twinges and just never noticed until now because I'm nowhyper aware. Of course I continually worry it's a new bc.

    You're not alone.

    I worry about everything now.

Similar to RV6gal, from the moment I was diagnosed with IDC and got my initial biopsy report, I started having mysterious aches and pains, especially in my bones and joints. I worried so much, especially that first week, thinking it had already spread even after initial biopsy report showed it to be a slower growth rate. I worried so much that I was nearly nonfunctional for 3-4 days. By the time I had my lumpectomy, I was still having weirdo pains but the anxiety was less (probably to the Xanax doc prescribed), but it wasn't until I got my pathology report with a pretty good prognosis that the pains just as mysteriously stopped. I realized then that it was probably my body reacting to the shock and stress of knowing I had bc. If I find myself starting to worry excessively, it seems the aches return. I am a worrier by nature, so this has been an eye-opening experience as to how stress can affect the whole body. Of course, it is always good for us bc ladies to be proactive if unusual pain persists, but I still think the mind plays a big part in the reaction of the rest of our body.
