    Hi there. Day 9 of my first chemo treatment with Taxoter/cytoxin. I was doing just great, minimal side effects, jogging every day, etc. I woke up yesterday with a raspy voice and its gone to the point I seem to have laryngitis, can't talk about a whisper, it feels like my vocal cords aren't working. Any one have this symptom and what on earth can I do about it? Thanks!

    I had a little bit of that on round 1 and 2. Here are couple of thoughts. I religiously, do the preemptive strike by keeping my mouth throat clean. Brush after eating, swish and gargle Biotene or you can make your own salt/b-soda version. It seems like you are doing pretty well, and the above might just do the trick.

    I will say that the Decadron steroid has contributed to a lot of up and down the esophogous, feeling like my sinuses, back of my throat feeling flooded. The second I feel anything going on that front, I pop a couple of Tums. A lot of ladies seem to have these things going on much more severely. I've been doing OK and in my case I projected #3 and 4 to the worst and it's turning out to be #1.
