I know for sure that the waiting is excrutiating! I understand. I would wait until after lunch to give your doctor a call. If there is a meeting this morning, he/she will likely jump right into patients in the morning before making any calls.

Thanks for your reply ml14. Im going to wait till my daughters picked up (shes having a day out with her auntie) have a cup of tea (and prob half the biscuit tin haha) and then give them a call as it should be about 2pm here in the uk xxx

Called them they are all still in their meeting and wont be out till half 4, hopefully they call me after that!
-
The waiting can be torture. Try to distract yourself with something you enjoy reading. Exercise can help too. Even walking! Promise it will get better

I am not a happy bunny! Just called and spoke to a nurse (who quite frankly sounded like she couldn't be bothered!) who advised my results aren't back yet and I wont be discussed now till next week!!! The biospy was done on wednesday! Anyone have any idea why the delay?
-
I work in healthcare and sometimes it can take up to two weeks to even get the results and then some physicians will give results over the phone and some won't. I wouldn't read anything into not getting the results today other than they are slow. I know that doesn't make you feel any better, but that is the truth. I am so sorry.
-
Cryptic girl....so sorry you have to wait till next week!!! Not knowing is the hardest part of all this. Once you know what your dealing with .....then you can deal. Hang in there, I know it's tough.

One thing I learned about the medical profession when taking care of my mom with bc is really be the squeakiest wheel. You "can't wait" you're simply "filled with anxiety" that is "affecting your health" . I don't know about the UK but over in the US the report may well be down on someone's desk making its slow way up the channel. Sometimes I would even say that I'm on the way over there. LOL. Don't think me horrible. I did everything for mom...and I would do it again. Also, if I can suggest to you...get copies of all your test results. Settle for nothing less than ALL. I had my share of "lost" reports, people looking all over for stuff. Now I just pull the report out of my folder. You are your best advocate. Go get em girl!

I'm in the UK - it took two weeks and my hospital will only discuss at scheduled appointments, not over the phone, whether they be good or bad results.
Sorry you have to wait, that is the very worst part. xx

Thanks ladies
! I've calmed down a bit now just so disapointed I need to wait another week for the results. The breast nurse is calling me back tomorrow because the areola is now rock solid again and really painful (happens every couple of weeks and lasts around a week, almost like its going to be an abcess but never any puss to drain and always on the same bit of areola) I do reckon its b9 as the solid mass seen on the ultrasound grew in only 4 weeks and I seem to get the inflammation that comes and goes which I presume is also b9.
