hi all

Looking for more information on Nottingham score of 6.

IDC 1 cm

I was unable to get the full report, but heard mitotic score 1, tubular? 3 and that is it. The doctor was reading the information to me and I was in the car so I am kind of lost.

Does this make sense to anyone?

Thanks

MT

Nottingham score is made up of three components. Each component is given a score between 1-3. The one score being closer to normal and three the most abnormal of that component. Then they are added together and the total comprises the "grade" of your cancer. The components are mitosis, tubular, and nucleus. So by process of elimination it would sound like you got a 1 mitosis, 3 tubular, then that would leave a 2 for nucleus for a total of 6 which would be a grade 2. I hope I explained it ok :)

thanks for the responses. It makes more sense now, although it does seem like there are a lot more tests coming. This was just from the initial biopsy results. My doctor says that they won't be able to really determine anything significant until after the whole tumor is removed. I hope I am understanding that correctly anyway
