Very sick young children while doing chemo. ARGH!

Hi all.

Both of my young children, 2 and 6, are sick. My 6 year old is very sick (fever, cough, runny nose). I just had my first chemo this past Wednesday, already had a low immune system because of a couple superbugs that got into my surgical wound.

What do you guys do in this situation? We have no family here in Australia other than us so no place to ship them off to or me off to for that matter. LOL.

Am I just being a bit paranoid? LOL I hope so!

I do get an immunity booster shot again today (a 5 shot regimen that gives the same results as Neulasta), so hopefully that'll help.

    I was around my grandchildren all the time during chemo, snot noses, flu and all, and I never got sick. Fingers crossed you make it through their illnesses. And they drank from my glasses, kissed me, and generally wiped boogers on me lol

    Chris I would wear gloves and wash your hands repeatedly. Do you have a DH or SO that could take over diaper changes and bedtime stories

    Hubby's been great. He's been doing diaper changes and most other things since my first surgery on June 23rd. My 6 year old, who is the sickest, just doesn't get how sick I am and that her putting her snot on everything (sorry!) can hurt me. But I'll just have to deal with it. My husband bought a disposable health mask ($5 for 1 REALLY? That's Australia for you) and a bunch of sanitizing wipes. Hopefully will get through it. Oh, and my son likes to blow raspberries. Yay! Anyway, they're in bed now. Hopefully they'll be okay in the morning (and me too! day 4 after first round is tomorrow, heard it's hell) LOL

    I'm still here, so I'm kinda smiling. Just nervous.

    When I was going through chemo, both of my kids took turns being sick. It was strange as usually they are very healthy. Perhaps it was the stress of the situation. Anyway I was just very careful to wipe things down with antibacterial cleaning wipes , use lots of hand sanitizer and Lysol. I also only used my personal bathroom. I was totally fine.
