Had my ultrasound guided vacuum biopsy today around 2:30pm and have a lot of sharp pain now at site and light bleeding. I am using ice packs but hurts a lot, at times get extremely sharp pains even with pain meds. My bra isn't real tight my husband thinks we should ace bandage it agin to put pressure on and make sure bleeding stops but it hurts extremely bad when put pressure on it. Any suggestions for at home care? It almost seems like I can feel it bleeding. Thanks

They did put a titanium marker in. But I don't believe that would cause a problem

No, I can't imagine the titanium marker's causing problems! Did the clinic give you any gauze pads? (They might not have. I'm accident prone, so tend to have gauze, tape, adhesive bandages galore. Also several vicious rose bushes three blackberry bushes and two cats who don't know the strength of their own claws.)

Yes they gave me gauze pads I have a few layers on it which the bottom few have blood on them, the very bottom one is stuck to the incision and I am afraid to remove it.

Also what does it suppose to look like around the incision? When I lift the corner of the gauze (not exposing the incision) it has a white triangle area coming from the incision.

    Thanks

Also do you think it's safe to sleep on my side? My bra isn't all that tight fitting, I don't own a sports bra the bra I am wearing is like a genie bra that closes in the back, my mom loaned it to me, it's a bit big. I have some ace bandage so I can always use it carefully as I did on the why home if need to

Boyd748, I had problems with bleeding after biopsies. They sent me home wrapped pretty firmly (but not painfully tight) in an ace bandage with instructions to keep it wrapped a minimum of 48 hours. I was also told that light bleeding that stops when light pressure is applied was not a concern. But any bleeding that didn't stop with pressure I was to call the after hours doctor.

Thanks kcal my husband wrapped me up and it's a lot better now.

I really appreciate everyone for helping. 😃 I think I over did it some while I was numb, went out to eat with DH than the 60 miles home. Going to get some rest now. Nite all!

Checking in to see how you're doing this morning? I wouldn't be surprised about the overdoing it, though going out for a meal and driving 60 miles (did he drive?) is mild.

He did drive. My biggest issue was when I'd do something with that arm that put way to much strain and weight on the incision. I am doing fine now. I am swollen up but not anymore that what I was before the biopsy. The itchiness is a big annoyance but I think it's because if all the swelling. The swelling in that side is so much that at times I can not even feel my collarbone on that side when I can feel it on the other when I put my arms up. The radiologist said he is not real sure what is causing all the swelling, if this mass comes back benign than the next step is to see what is causing the swelling itching etc. thanks will keep updated when know more
