I've been on simvastatin for years, like maybe 20? With the fibro and arthritis, can't tell if statin makes a difference now the AI. I hurt all over most of the time. Don't like grapefruit all that much, it doesn't like me. Too much acid. Think main se is leg cramps. Eat almonds daily, high in magnesium, helps the cramps.

Hey Spookie I forgot a great big YAY for your LE pump yesterday.

Kath - Nick can speak Italian ( I think it is anyway) all day to me. Agree dog is cute. Thanks for the yoga vids.

Edited because it sounded like I was an idiot.

Loverly, I could be wrong. But it's a reasonable possibility. I think the angel was produce by either Dalain Crystal Coast glass company in China or it's predessor. I'm leaning towards it being produced by the predessor as the current company isn't producing anything like this now. But I couldn't get into that store(link below)

"DALIAN CRYSTAL COAST GLASSWARE CO., LTD was built on Apirl,2003. We was born from DALIAN SHENGDAO GLASSWARE FACTORY(this factory was built on 1917 year). The whole group of us devoted ourselves for producing and designing color handmade glassware."

The uses of the glass beads is unique and consistent between the two pieces. Dalain glass does hand blown glass and manufactured glass. The wings  I'm sure are hand blown applied. The link goes  to the Dalain store in Dalain. The final keyword that lead me to Dalain was beaded This link is to the dinner set.

OKAYAMA...the light bulb finally came on. Looks like a mushroom to me,Goats.

Kathi, your GS knows how to play mahjong?? What a clever boy!!!

    Marlana, busy working?

    Pattycake, kids back to school?

Ms. CHEVY, ok, I'm still not sure why autocorrect keeps changing the letters of your name to cap. Have not heard of cholesterol meds causing BC, but I think there are contradictory findings linking choleserol meds to memory loss. I guess it depends on who is doing the studies and their motives. Has DD tried fish oil, flax seeds, or chia seeds? Mom tried the white chia seeds and cholesterol went down beautifully without help of anti-cholesterol med. Have her cut back on red meat. Eat more fish( preferably wild not farm raised), veggies, high fiber foods. Exercise. Some people can control their cholesterol with life style modification. When we hit menopause, our good cholesterol goes down. Exercise might help HDL (good cholesterol) go up. It's the oxidized cholesterol that causes damage. Eat more food with high antioxidants ie., berries, garlic, citrus ( careful with grapefruit), and pretty much most colorful fruits and veggies.

You gals have been busy while I've been chasing glass across the world.

Earlier when I posted to Mary, I said "It's easier to just not do Grapefruit/ GF juice when taking any meds than to remember what it can't be used with."

In the late 90's this retired astronaut's wife was my patient. He was on a crusade then to get statins outlawed b/c of the damage they do. This is a link to his web page

    http://www.spacedoc.com/

The research on the weight thread has led me to the Paleo diet. Haven't written that on there yet as I was still reading and learning. The Paleo diet is essentially a no white diet. But it's more than that. I'm not well versed in it yet ,so, I can't pontificate yet hahah.

The Paleo diet supports the gut bacteria. Maintain the gut bacteria and all kinds of healing can occur. But it won't happen over night. It's a way of life. A long term commitment. Not sure I can give up my bread and butter.

The Paleo diet is the in diet right now. I was surprised that was where the research led too. The research also indicates a low fructose diet. Which is likely part of the paleo diet, just haven't got that far yet.

Thanks for asking Spookie. It was the pool guy. Came on Tuesday  instead of Monday.

Loverly, Chevy is a trade name for the car maybe that's why. Did you read the stuff about the glass? I worked on it all day. Brain worn out.

Kathy, With DS I stopped asking about the worst thing after the first few times. I was interested in knowing what your GS's observation would be b/c of the great differences in culture. Marvelous he did a video tour. Clever boy :)

Thanks you guys! She was afraid of taking the drugs.... Now I'll tell her what I heard from all of you..... I had read that here before, quite awhile ago!

So glad I asked your opinion!

I was capitolized? Possibly for some reason..... who knows?

When I log on with AOL, that is where I have the problems.... all of them..... So when I go through Chrome or Firefox, everything is alright.... It's just a habit I got into, when I first got a computer.... But I don't think AOL is the best browser by any means! Always hesitates, and says "Oops, something happened to your browser" and it restarts.... by THAT time I am ready to get that iron skillet and give it "what for!"

Somedays my computer takes all my windows and fans them out on the bar that is below. Other days not, has a mind of it's own. I have managed to get 1/2 screen only but thank goodness it was very late so I just shut'er down. Better by morning. No clue how to fix it. DD knows and has talked me thru it.

OK I make progress when I get mad. Two big TP bags of shredding ready to go out. Dead ants vacuumed out of DD's room. Slowly winnowing stuff out of there. Where DH piles all his paid bills. We went thru piles the other day looking for an account #. Some of out stuff is bundled so no account# on there. Decided he didn't want to do what drove the original search. Geesh. Have 2 bags of stuff that need to go to Goodwill. Been in there for months. Maybe next Friday when I go to eye doc.

Interesting plant Spookie. Like it. My DM worked for an aloe vera company in the late 1970s. They made cosmetic stuff and I think the drinkable too.

LIl gt, you know they are seeking water? I'm a northern gal. Had to learn that down here. I pay through the nose for slug-a-bug. But so happy no bugs, spiders etc. I have green Johnson and Bermuda grass. Screw Augustine and Bahia. My Johnson and Bermuda are drought resistant & bug resistant native florida grass. If I WERE IN GHARGE, I'd outlaw the water hungry ones. But I'm not in charge.

Good spinach, Loverly, I find where a little piece of glass was made a half a world away. Can't be a world away, but near. Yes, OCD, I know you are OCD and ADD too. What's unique is it's uniqueness. Cool. Not just a little piece of glass. That's part of walking by the shelves and knowing something's different. Grab that piece----savor it's beauty.....just a little angel.

Spookie, never new aloe bloomed. Hmm, I might have to get some. Love the flower.

GS is very observant. Rode his scooter we got him and told his dad it was like snowboarding. He's been doing that for about three years and loves it. His sister prefers skiing. I was surprised when he mentioned houses with basements. He went down to ours and noticed basement windows in other houses. No basements in the houses I've been to over there. Told us all about the Titanic. Huh what, I didn't know about the Titanic when I was eight. Was doing homework and writing about his visit to the Air and Space Museum downtown and about the aircraft carriers. Asked Grandpa where they are built and Grandpa told him they are built in VA. Wasn't so sure about what VA is so I reminded Grandpa that would be the equivalent of a prefecture. Love their culture.

Smaarty, love your pictures of Ireland. Brings back wonderful memories. Was amazed at how green everything is over there.

Ok, I got lost a bit in Sas's conversation. Whew thought it was me.

DH paid $2.33 today - regular. Still haven't seen eggs come down in price. I paid $2.50/dozen a few weeks ago at Sprouts for "cage free". Didn't care what they were, just wanted them for the price.

This is a pony tail Palm. Up north it is a house plant. Been so wet this summer it bloomed too. Aloe might bloom in a pot up north if summered outside. image
