My sister in law's sister was just diagnosed and is not ready to attempt forum use (overwhelmed) and she has asked me to interpret this information. There is more information here than I am used to. I appreciate any help.

"ER stains Low Positive. Cells positive 5%. PR Stains negative.Staining intensity. No nuclear staining.Positive and negative controls stain appropriately Antibody vendor and

Clone: Dakota PgR 636.HER2\neutral Equivocal (score 2).Cells positive 40%. Staining intensity Moderate membranes staining. Antibody used. Hercept Kit.polyclonal antibody. The appearances are interpreted as: Equivocal for HER2/neutral protein over expression pending FISH. Note Threshold for positive HER2 IHC results."

That was SO helpful kayb. I tend to go blank with unfamiliar words and now that you mention it all of that suff seems pretty clear. :-) I wasn't sure whether that ER+ would qualify for tamoxifen since it was weak so it is good to know they will still use it. I will let her know. Thanks so much.

I thought hers read positive for Her2 so I am relieved to hear that it is not determined yet. I hope it is negative. Hopefully it all goes well. She lost her husband to cancer two years ago. :-(

I know my sister in law will be a good support but I am not sure how comfortable they are talking about it. I hope she has lots of support. I don't really know her since I moved away from there many years ago and they are 3000 miles away but I did let her know to email or call whenever she felt like it. I know from experience it is easier to talk to people with cancer. I also told her about this site but she has not used forums so I think is a bit intimidated by it.

If she does come here I will have to start behaving.
