I was exhausted the first day of radiation, I went home and went to bed. It hasn't been hard at all for me, just really tiring.

Deblc: I just happened to see your post re: radiation and fatigue. I can relate. It's been a year and a half since I finished radiation. Sometimes I just feel more fatigued, is it: I'm now 60, I don't get enough sleep, stress?? Am I imagining I am more fatigued?? I do exercise, love walking and hiking. Took a strenuous hike with elevation change last month, was pretty wiped out for several hours. I also am experiencing chest tightness at times when I take a deep breath, not with exercise. Maybe I'm just a worrier, but still --don't know what to think.

rosecal there are so many long term side effects we don't know about. And so frustrating thatwe don't know if it's a side effect, or something else !!

Hi Not sure if you still check in here but it looks like no posts on this subject since 2009. I read yours and feel better. SO many people telling me rad is going to be a cake walk. I have my 3rd of 30 sessions today. I have liver disease which already makes me fatigued, so they are thinking I will probably be BEYOND fatigued. ALso I have a hematoma. At my 2 week post lumpectomy check up I was feeling much better....ready to stop pain meds. The next day my breast hurt and each day it got worse. It was the hematoma! So back on pain meds. Sometimes they do not even touch it. Surgeon said i could have it another month (my surgery was April 11 this is May 19!!! So now I am sure my body will become dependent on the meds and I will have to wean. Also meds make me tired so I am having a triple whammy in the energy department. I feel tired already but I am SURE its my emotional state PLUS the pain meds and my liver. NO ONE to talk to. No one gets its. I hope this finds its way to you! Shelley

There have been posts on this Thread as recent as Aug, 2015 prior to your post.

I finished 12 weekly adjuvant Taxol completely and utterly EXHAUSTED. I started Rads a week after last Taxol and had more energy daily, through my 25 rads. Back to usual by end of rads.

I finished my 30 treatments (including 5 boosts) on Wednesday. Other than wanting to take an occasional short nap, and going to bed a little earlier, I really haven't felt much fatigue. I have tried to eat a lot of protein and lots of leafy greens, and drinking more water. Maybe that helped.
