Making the decision.

I have just been diagnosed with a lobular carcinoma with her2 .i am having surgery in two weeks.

My surgeon has given me the choice, wide incision or mastectomy. He gave me all the figures and percentages, and he made it sound like there wasn't much differance survival wise. I am really undecided and my head is spinning at the moment. I am 71 this year so cosmetically it isn't an issue, but I want to make the right decision and I know that only myself can decide.

I would really appreciate your views and experiences with this dilemma

    Hi Dobbin,

Surgery decision's can be hard to make and can take time to figure out which is best for you and your circumstances.

Here's a link to our Surgery Page: Surgery

It includes information on: What to expect, Mastectomy V's Lumpectomy, Frequently Asked Questions on Surgery, and Research News.

We hope you come back here often and let us know how you're doing,

    Sending big hugs your way,
