24.7 miles cycling, 1580 feet of climbing, 1,004 calories burned. Had to make sure to get the 4 calories in the number lol. Beat, and it was a hot, brutal ride today.

Hopeful, I believe you're referring to those obsolete objects called cookbooks. I have a few. Will look forward to your recipe if you have time. And I didn't know that about garlic. Though usually do most of my chopping before starting the cooking.
littleblue, hope your brother turns up soon...
-
Found him! Non event- dead cell phone at the trail head. Whew!
-
I'm very glad to hear it! I've been sending good vibes.
We're under another thunderstorm/red flag fire watch here tonight and tomorrow.
-
They worked! Big thank you hug! Dang it, no more red flag warnings. I forbid it. Nice, gentle rain and mist for the rest of the season. Losing to many good people this year. You be safe, ya hear?
-
I watered everything this morning and I'll do it again tomorrow, drought warnings considered but not adhered to in a crazy way. I'll use grey water for the spot watering and plants on the porch. I sure hope herbs like a little colloidal oatmeal in their drink!
8/10:
- .5 hr T (2.5 MPH avg)
- (radiation #22)
- 1.0 hr T (2.6 MPH avg) + Fitbit steps/walk + stretches
= 5.60 miles
I did eat a big cookie and a slice of pizza today.
I have a little treadmill trick--when I get to my time or distance goal, I walk an additional hundredth of a mile that I don't count. This sneaky bonus exercise adds up to about 4 extra miles in my year--not a lot, but arguably 4 miles I wouldn't have walked otherwise.
-
Hopeful- great info on the garlic !
Jen - so relieved about your brother!
KSusan- that's the exercise equivalent of rounding up your mortgage payment every month! Good thinking! I see your Mileage totals are increasing steadily. Well done!
Step app says I did 3028 today. I've been afraid to look. It's not aerobic.... But it's something
-
Littleblue, so glad!
Woke up at 6 to a steady rain, the first in weeks. Hoping you west coast folks get some soon.
-
woke up at 5 to walk 4.8 miles on this, my last day of chemo!!!
-
KBeee, Congratulations on being finished!
-

Karen,, you are a rock star! PARTY on your last day of chemo!!!!!!
-
GO GET THE GOOD STUFF, FURLESS LEADER!!! You are an inspiration! Time to party like a rockstar- at least a rock star on heavy drugs lol.
-
Yay Kbeeeeee!!!! Congrats!
-
Congratulations, Kbeee!
Thank you for the welcome, everyone.
I walked 3 miles this morning and then cleaned the house. Off to do 15 minutes of T Tapp and. I am feeling a little more energetic today.
-
Karen - Congratulations!!!! Whoop it up. We're all celebrating with you.
Jen - SO relieved your brother turned up. What a situation...
Susan, Hope you can keep things under control down there.
-
Congratulations Kbee! And on the long walk too. You are an inspiration to us all!
-
Karen, awesome, so glad you are finished with chemo! And you did it on your feet, second time in 18 months. You must be one tough lady!
Today was chasing around three grandchildren 1, 2 and 4. Everybody is beat. We played this game called Swatto which is hilarious. Everybody gets Velcro fly Swatters and this little tub flings out Velcro flies and you have to swat them, even the 1 year old got into it. And of course play doh, paint, markers, crayons, ninja turtles, trucks....I need a bubble bath! So that's my exercise for today. But it was great
-
T- I always get warm fuzzies when I think of you playing with your grandchildren.
-
Dear body, you have been abused within an inch of your life as punishment for screwing up and growing cancer. I get it. But WHEN,WHEN! Will you quit with the acid reflux? Also, my right earlobe and right calf are throbbing in pain. What the hell? I'm almost a month post chemo! Seriously. All I ask is that you return to doing everything I ask of you without complaint, including metabolizing gas station deep fried burritos, sleep well, have some good sex, and don't ever get cancer again. And do this right now. Sincerly, the brain.
Hiked a buncha elk trails through logging units today. Not feeling so good. Need motivation to work out.
-
Had an off-site work meeting today that incidentally promoted bad diet choices and I succumbed to homemade bread and Mac and cheese deliciousness. I also didn't walk this am so tonight in the blazing uncharacteristic Portland heat and humidity I managed to plod 2.5 miles. Now I am red faced and puffy but feeling less sad about the carbs.
-
Italychick, I want Swatto for my next birthday!
litleblue: earlobe? It's always the little things that are the most aggravating. Says she who dropped a flashlight on her big toe a couple of weeks ago and paid...
sloth: carbs sound just unbelievably good.
PET scan tomorrow, and I was told NOT to exercise today. Did about a mile of walking and otherwise sat around.
-
Rainny- keep us posted on the scan. Good luck and don't miss the turnoff and wind up in CrazyTown
-
I'm nauseated tonight, for no reason I can discern.
8/11:
- .5 hr T (2.5 MPH avg) + stretches
- (radiation #23)
- .5 hr T (2.5 MPH avg) + Fitbit steps/walk + stretches
= 4.81 miles
-
ksusan, could you be constipated? Or having intestinal issues? That can make me feel nauseated.
Stevia can make me nauseated too, don't know if you use any of that as a sweetener. Or being dehydrated.
-
Frau Doktor- it could be the long term exposure to unusual and excessive heat in combination with rads, then drinking too much water to try to balance it. I think you should lay in a dark room with nice music and an ice pack and try to just bring everything down. Thinking of you
-
5.25 mike walk with my new "boot". Ortho put me in the boot for one more week. My last one had holes in the sole and was worn down to the metal. Ortho said she had never seen one worn out like that. I took that as a compliment! She said I must walk a lot. I told her it had a lot of miles on it! New one is more comfortable.
-
wayto go Kbee. I'm impressed! Sounds like the doc was too!
-
Good work, Kbeee! Keep walking!
