Hi there

Hope there are some ladies to help shed some light. I have been diagnosed for the 3rd time. I have always has local recurrence after a bilateral mastectomy at the age of 24. Now I have been told after finding a lump under my arm, that my cancer has metastasized to the lymph nodes. After a biopsy, it was found I am ER-/PR- and HER2+. I have not chatted to my doctor yet and currently on no meds.

Anyone experienced something similar? Any insight on what your treatment was? I am now 30.

    Hi Hope!

Were your earlier tumors HER2+? What treatments did you receive for them?

Hi there. Yes they were also ER/PR negative and HER+. But they were always local recurrence. I only received FAC chemo and Herceptin.

    Hope,

Sorry that this is your third time with the beast. As far as treatment options, I assume that if your cancer is only in your lymph nodes (and hasn't made a new home elsewhere), your nodes will be removed. Then, you might have radiation and chemo (again). Since you are HER2+, you may be able to get Perjeta, the latest targeted therapy for HER2+ cancer. But, it's really up to you and your cancer team; I'm not a doctor and am basing these treatment possibilities on what other women have had in similar circumstances. Best wishes! Hope you get more information soon!
